The Birthday Massacre @ Chinnerys

Toni and I went to Southend tonight to see The Birthday Massacre at Chinnerys. We had planned to go and pick up Dan and Laura and then scoot off to the gig but sadly dire traffic en route meant that Dan and Laura ended up making their own way to the gig and we met them there. To make me even more grumpy we ended up missing Trash Monroe thanks to the roadworks *grumble grumble*

We did however manage to catch two bands and had a great night.

RAGGEDY ANGRY
These guys were really good. Electro alternative industrial stuff with a singer looking like a very young Marilyn Manson. It was good danceable stuff with some catchy choruses.

THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE
I've successfully managed to miss The Birthday Massacre on their last couple of UK jaunts so I was delighted to actually make it to see them tonight. They put on a really strong show and although the crowd was small-ish they still managed to generate a lot of noise. Much fun was had by all!

After the gig we went back to Dan and Laura's for a cup of tea and a good old chinwag and catch up before dragging ourselves back to SWF in the wee small hours.
