Pretty Boy Floyd & L.A.Guns @ Camden Underworld

Toni and I hit The Underworld in Camden tonight for an 80s flashback extravaganza!

THE INFAMOUS
Sleaze rock meets the bastard son of Fred Durst! The singer might not have looked the part but he certainly had the voice! Energetic songs and a great attitude, just what you need from a warm up band. Very enthusiastic and well received by the small crowd.

VENREZ
Hailing from LA this was just good time rock n roll pure and simple. The singer looked very humbled to be there and was having a great time. It was also great to see the legend that is Alex Kane (from AntiProduct) playing his little heart out.

PRETTY BOY FLOYD
All the hits from Leather Boyz plus Saturday Nite an Fight For Your Fight To Party
An awesome show that took me right back to the 80s and showed a lot of these new bands how it should be done! Toast Of The Town, 48 Hours, Wild Angels, Rock N Roll Outlaws, I Wanna Be With You, Leather Boyz With Electric Toyz were all there and in full glory. The crowd lapped it up and they finished off with an awesome cover of Fight For Your Right (To Party). Fantastic stuff and they then called two girls out on stage to take them backstage once they were done.... oh dear!

L.A.GUNS
This was a good set from L.A.Guns, better than last time we saw them at the Underworld but still seem to be missing something. Jizzy Pearl's vocals once again seemed to suffer in the mix which really made things hard to come together as songs. The sound was really good for Pretty Boy Floyd so I am not sure what it is about Jizzy that causes such issues. Lots of the classics were there: Bitch Is Back, Sex Action, No Mercy, Dreamtime, Ballad Of Jane and Never Enough to name a few. For the encore bass legend Phil Soussan came on for Knocking On Heaven's Door.

All in all it was a fantastic night but I have to say that tonight Pretty Boy Floyd completely stole the show.
