Venice Day 2

Breakfast today was a wonderful continental buffet and a fine selection of gluten free products for Toni.

The ship set off or a 2 hour tour of the canal which gave us a chance to catch some sun an enjoy some fairly spectacular views.

Once we were back at our mooring, despite initial reluctance, we agreed to play the cocktail quiz and won. This involved us having to successfully identify the most national anthems and movie/TV themes and earned Toni, Sam and I a free cocktail each. Result!

Lunch might as well have been dinner, there was so much of it! Once again Toni was well catered for. I am finding it all so relaxing that grabbing micro sleeps here and there is very easy so after lunch mum and I went back to our cabins while Toni and Sam had a drink and read in the lounge.

One short nap later and it was time to start exploring! We went for a walk around the streets near our mooring discovered that this wasn't the most elegant part of Venice. There were, however, lots of gorgeous building to look at as well as a very nice park where we saw a strange lizard sunning itself on a rock by a water feature with fish and terrapins. It was also most amusing to find a local Odeon cinema in the most inconspicuous building. Only the lettering on the plaque showed it was there!

Drinks, reading and some lounge music followed before we ran away for dinner (to the strains of Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head)

Dinner, OMG! Talk about amazing. They even managed to magic up a gluten free pasta for Toni, now that's what I call service! The entire meal was gorgeous.

We then popped back for a few more Lounge music tunes before hitting the top deck for some fresh air and reading before finally retiring.
