Good working environment, Rishta and Rangers v Islanders

Today commenced with me logging on early and working from home for the morning and then getting to the office for lunchtime. This felt strange as I am either in the office or working from home but not a combination of the two. There is quite a good atmosphere in the office at the moment. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come rather that just people starting to wind down for Xmas. Either way it makes for a pleasant working environment.

In the evening we were joined by Emma who had popped over to see us for the night. Cooking was too much hassle so we all headed round to Rishta for some noms. Sam opted out though as he had his heart set on a kebab so he indulged at home. When we got back Toni went into creative mode while I rolled some punk rock n roll on YouTube while we waited for the start of the ice hockey.

Our ice hockey fix was a derby grudge match as New York Rangers took on New York Islanders. These games are always heated affairs so this was a definite "must watch". The first period was a somewhat chippy affair that ended 1 - 2 to the Islanders! Both Islanders goals were short handed (one from a questionable penalty shot call) but the Rangers did manage to score on the power play.

Three minutes into the second and the Rangers made it 2 - 2.   Five minutes later and a nice power play goal from Stepan meant that the Rangers were leading 3 - 2. Sadly the Islanders tied it up 3 - 3 and it was everything to play for once again. The game settled down a bit after that and the period ended 3 - 3.

A five on three power play goal for the Islanders made it 3 - 4. Both teams then had numerous power play chances but were unable to capitalise. Less than a minute left with the Rangers on a six on four advantage the Islanders put the game to rest with an empty netter. The game ended New York Rangers 3 - 5 New York Islanders. *sigh*
