Well you don't see this every day!

It was with much amusement that I was confronted with this on the train home tonight. Had to be worth a cheeky snapshot and a bit of editing just to share it! Brilliant!

As I've been away all weekend I thought I'd better do a quick catch up on all the Rogue One goodies that have been coming out. I'll kick things off with a set of new Imax posters

Next up we have the final official trailer:

Followed by a number of TV spots:
Watch out for Tarkin in this first one!

It has also now been announced that Rogue One will be 133 minutes long so no short movie here which is great news.

Journey home, Indian and Westworld

Sadly today we had to accept that Witchfest was over and depart Brighton to return home. After a hearty breakfast we took a slow walk to the station. In London we might have Banksy but this piece of street art was brilliant!

It was a reasonable journey back and despite lots of engineering works we managed to work out a simple route back home. We got in and had a cup of tea before deciding that we should go round to Rishta for dinner. Delicious noms have been happening all weekend :)

We saw out the rest of the day having a binge of Westworld from episode 2 through to 7. I thought the first episode was quite slow but it certainly picks up pace after that. It's a really good show with a great soundtrack to boot.

Witchfest Day 2 (The Dolmen)

Despite having a pretty wild night we were still up bright and early today to go and get breakfast After that it was back to the Brighton Centre for a day and night of fun. In London we have the London Eye, in Brighton they have what we call the Bright Ring Piece.

During the day we spent time talking to so many wonderful friends. The market was brilliant with so many fabulous stalls and it was really busy all day. We spent a lot of time with Helen and Keith on their crystal stall and helped them pack everything away once the market area closed up.

After that we all went off to a lovely Greek restaurant called Steki and had some delicious food. It really was good.

Once noms were done we headed back to the Brighton Centre for the evening's entertainment. The Dolmen were on fine form once again with some new material thrown into their set.

As is often the way when The Dolmen perform I was honoured to be asked up on stage for a wee spot of drumming :)

It was the perfect way to end the night and round off a brilliant Witchfest weekend. We loved the Brighton Centre as the new venue (having moved from Fairfield Halls in Croydon which is now being refurbished) and hope that Children Of Artemis might consider running it here for many years to come.

Witchfest Day 1 (Crow Dancers)

Toni and I packed our bags and jumped the train to Brighton for a weekend of Witchfest fun. When we arrived in Brighton I was most amused by this sign outside a pub getting into the spirit of Black Friday whilst channeling punk.

It was a nice leisurely stroll along the seafront to get to the Beach Hotel. It was a quaint old hotel wth loads of character and our room was lovely.

There was also a very good view from our fourth floor windows.

There was also an old school health and safety risk cage lift! It was great fun but a little scary.

Once we had chilled out for a bit it was off to the Brighton Centre to meet up with the Crow Dancers and load in for soundcheck. The main stage was pretty impressive.

After soundcheck Toni and I went off for some food and had a brilliant meal at a fish restaurant right next to the hotel. It all tasted so fresh it was amazing. After foods we went and chilled out in our room for a bit before getting ready to hit the Brighton Centre for the evening shenanigans.

Being on stage with Crow Dancers tonight was an absolute blast. Despite some technical difficulties it was so much fun. The energy was amazing and the crowd reaction was great. There was much good feedback afterwards which was very humbling. Here's a few pics that I've managed to grab from various sources.

After the gig there was walking, and drinking, and walking, and more drinking. It was a very good night and an amazing way to start the weekend.

More Rogue One TV spots

The release of Rogue One is getting nearer and nearer (21 days and counting) and the promotional machine is still in full force.

Two more TV spots have been released. There is plenty of reused footage and just enough nice little new bits to keep the excitement building, well for me anyway.

Other Stars Wars movie news

With all the excitement for Rogue One in the air at the moment it's easy to miss the news on other upcoming Star Wars films. Episode VIII is due for release in December 2017 and the Han Solo anthology movie is penciled in for 2018.

Here's a few things that we know so far......

Episode VIII:
It is scheduled for release on 15th December 2017.
Rian Johnson wrote the script and will direct.
It continues from where The Force Awakens ended.
We are likely to get more backstory on lots of characters from The Force Awakens
We should find out about Rey's parentage

Han Solo:
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will direct.
Lawrence Kasdan is on script writing duty (he wrote Empire, Jedi and The Force Awakens).
Alden Ehrenreich is playing the young Han Solo
Donald Glover is playing Solo's buddy Lando Calrissian.
Emilia Clarke "Game of Thrones" Mother Of Dragons is in the movie.
Kathleen Kennedy (Lucasfilm President) has said the film will be have a style like a heist or western movie.

So there's a few little nuggets of info, not a lot I know but it's a start.

In the meantime, here's a Rogue One trailer with a Beastie Boys soundtrack!

Rogue One midnight screening tickets, two novels read and new TV spots

In the early hours this morning I logged on to the Cineworld website to book the midnight showing of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story! All systems are now fully operational!

I've also finished two more Star Wars novels. First up was Ahsoka with a great story about Ahsoka Tano and some of her history between Revenge Of The Sith and the Rebels TV show. It's a great book that flows really well and is another thumbs up for the new Star Wars canon.

Next up was Tarkin which is another novel that fills in some backstory, this time for Gran Moff Tarkin. Once again this was a really good story with some great flashback sequences that help build a much bigger view on the man that is Tarkin.

Another two TV spots have dropped too:

There are now only 24 days to go until we  get to finally see Rogue One! I'm getting really excited now!

Sunday 20 November 2016

Rogue One tickets, more TV spots and Battlefront

Finally the date for Rogue One tickets has been announced and that day is TOMORROW! About time too and it will be good to get these booked :)

More TV spots has been released to get our appetite sated.

In other new, Electronic Arts have unveiled the Star Wars Battlefront: Ultimate Edition release with new DLC incoming. The new video for this release contains some gorgeous Rogue One related game footage.

Dolmen Grove Essex & Kent Moot

It was off to deepest darkest Essex today for our November moot. This time we were planning for next year so it was calendars out to pencil in dates from January through to December 2017.

We then moved on to discussing things that we would like to do at various points of the year with a nice list of topics starting to appear as well as discussing some potential outings as well. It was great to be back among this great group of people who we share part of our spiritual life with. There was great enthusiasm and energy in the room which was very encouraging given some of the negativity that has been lurking around elsewhere. We have purpose and focus for the future.

Our session finished off with a short drumming session just to shake things up a bit.

A walk in Oxleas Woods

Toni and I got in touch with the great outdoors today with a lovely walk in Oxleas Woods. It was a chilly day but it was bright and there was no rain.

We had a lovely time and it was so nice to be out in the fresh air just spending time together. We've decided to try and do this more often :)
