My company were far more proactive than the UK government and we all started working from home a week before BoJo and his clowns had started even thinking about it. I guess having offices in Italy and New York made a difference to how we looked at the pandemic.
The funny thing was that we started working from home at the end of a week where we were about to relocate to a new office. The move actually happened with all of our stuff going over there (apart from laptops) but we have not actually set foot in the place as a total lockdown directive was issue by the company. I can only assume that there are still loads of crates there waiting to be unpacked.
It's been a strange environment ever since. My first few months were spent with me working from a temporary desk in the bedroom which was OK but not ideal. After that though we made some changes to what was the craft room and now I have an office space in there which is a much better working set top for me.
I hated it at first and was starting to go stir crazy but now things have stabilised and I am finding myself to be more productive than when I was in the office. It's more of a challenge to keep on top of all of my reports but I have managed and they've learned they cannot get away with things just because they are working from home.
There is still no sign of a return to the office and I am actually considering discussing making this a permanent thing for me and I will just go into the office if important meetings are happening.
