Toni has now had the date through for her second attempt at her procedure so we will be self isolating from Monday in preparation. We took the opportunity for one last early morning visit to Miggi's for some breakfast before we lock ourselves away. Such an attractive bunch LOL.
On our way back I spotted this wonderful display (sorry for the quality but we were in the car and it was some distance away):
We did a hockey recap watching the Dallas Stars win their series 4 - 2 with a 7 -3 victory over the Calgary Flames. Dallas were my pick in the bracket challenge although I have a soft spot for Calgary as netminder Cam Talbot is an ex-Ranger.
Sam made some delicious burgers fro scratch which were perfectly cooked on the BBQ. We then embarked on some more Lucifer.
Condition critical, state of emergency was the order of the day.
I had a plan today, things to do and a list of things to accomplish. Sadly, the wold conspired against me. Just as I had started getting into my stride everything went condition critical and I spent the majority of that day trying to put out the fires, As a result I didn't get very much done that I needed to! I worked non-stop, didn't have a break and missed out on lunch. It was such a relief to finally log off and at least I managed to avoid working late.
A yummy dinner was accompanied by Season 5 of Lucifer. The first eight episodes dropped on Netflix so we burned our way through the first four of them.
It was a great start and can't wait to do the next four,
We finished the evening off with a coupe of episodes of Rust Valley Restorers, a Canadian car building show. Now into it's third season this one is a bot of car crash TV but great fun.
Today has been a day of trying to juggle lots of things and tick things off of my to do list. To keep myself focussed I have had Pop Will Eat Itself blasting in my ears. I often forget how awesome this band were.
I have a feeling that tomorrow might also be a PWEI day as well! Might also chuck a bit of The Prodigy in to the mix for good measure.
Dinner didn't go quite as planned as the fish that we were going to have seemed to be off so we resorted to ye olde kebab.
Can you guess what we watched tonight. Lucifer you say? Hell yeah! So that's the end of Season 4 and now we just have to wait until Friday for Season 5 to drop!
We were up early today to beat the masses and grab a quick bite at Miggi's (the only cafe open that I would trust as there are good measures in place) and do do some essential shopping. Discovered this little gem, who on earth though this monstrosity up?
Once home we settled in for day to start burning through Season 3 of Lucifer.
Sam made a delicious carbonara for dinner and we did a quick catch up on Canada's Drag Race before resuming our Lucifer mission.
Today was made up of many calls, too many meetings. I felt a bit like this....
I did manage to take a brief time out at lunchtime and lift some weights with Sam in our garage gym. We having done it in over a week so it took a while to get things going. There was a great adrenalin rush though which gave me a boost for the afternoon.
Lots of tasks were ticked off and all appraisals completed so the working day ended in a good place which was a great way to start the weekend.
A lovely dinner was then followed by a Lucifer fest as we completed Season 2. We just have 36 episodes to burn through now (Season 3 and 4) before Season 5 starts next Friday!
There was a reprieve from the heat today with a nice bit of thunder, lightning and some rain. We all stood out in the garden to enjoy it.
Work rumbles on and I have now nearly completed all the appraisals that I need to do. Most of the fires are out but the workload is still crazy high. It's all good though.
We watched some Lucifer and then the Columbus Blue Jackets even their series against Tampa Bay Lightning. At least this one didn't descend into multiple overtimes! Still not sure where my allegiance will sit once we get a bit deeper in so for now I'll keep watching some games before I make a final decision.
It was not a good day today. Not only was the temperature melty again but I ended up having to firefight two simultaneous critical incidents! I had hoped it would be a simple day, sill old me!
The fires were eventually put out but it took practically the whole day to get everything stable again. Now for the root cause analysis!
Finally free from work (no early finish today) we watched the final of Titan Games before once again doing some Lucifer :)
Having cleaned out a spray bottle we enjoyed cold air and cold mist while watch the Tamba Bay Lightning v Columbus Blue Jackets game. This one was fun to watch. We had no real vested interest but opted to side with Columbus as their coach John Tortorella used to be the Rangers coach. The game was tied 2 - 2 at the end of the third period. We went through two overtime periods without a winner. I had to go to bed as I couldn't sit through any more overtimes as it was already gone midnight so I'll find our who won in the morning!
Well the temperature spiked again today and it was most unpleasant trying to work. Curtains were closed, fan was on full but everything was still very yucky. It was hot as hell!
I did manage to actually work a shorter day today though. Well, for shorter read my standard hours! It was a novelty though.
The evening was spent chilling with two fans and working our way through many more episodes of Lucifer.
Today was a better day. As the temperature is still really high Toni and I went out for a nice walk really earlier before the temperature had crept up.
I managed to get in a massive amount of reading, something I never get round to which was a great way to relax after my migraine nonsense yesterday.

The rest if the day was spent chilling out watching old episodes of Lucifer (in preparation for Season 5) as well as catching up on things like Doom Patrol and Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.
We finished things off with a kebab and watched the Boston Bruins v Washington Capitals round robin Stanley Cup game.
I had a half day today. The morning was spent working from home up to my eyeballs in stats going back to 2016 pulled for some pointless management review. I'm sure they'll find something meaningful in there.....
There was lunch and then I had the afternoon off.
The early part of the afternoon I accompanied Toni to the hospital to attend a review with her consultant following her procedure in December. The good news is that what they took out was nothing to worry about and the other good news is that they can now look at doing the actual procedure that she was supposed to have. We hope this will be in a couple of months.
The rest of the afternoon was spent watching the first three episodes of the DC crossover series Crisis On Infinite Earths.
This consisted of episodes of Supergirl, Batwoman and The Flash. Lots of wonderful guest cameos throughout these episodes and a who's who of all the DC TV series that are currently running. This is their best crossover event so far and I can't wait to see how it all pans out when Arrow and Legends Of Tomorrow are broadcast next week.
We finished the evening off watching the first few episodes of Netflix's series called Messiah.
The series focuses on the modern world's reaction to a man, who first appears in the Middle East claiming to be the eschatological return of 'Isa (Jesus). His sudden appearance and apparent miracles spark a growing international following, casting doubts around who he really is, a case investigated by a CIA officer.
The first episodes were good and I hope the story unfolds in a way that it lives up to its promise,
It was a much slower paced day today which was a welcome change. No emergencies, not a lot of issues and I even got to go home earlier than usual. RESULT!
Just before Season 3 of Lucifer ended it was announced that Fox had decided to cancel the show much to our disgust. The show was doing well and had a massive fanbase but became the victim of corporate decisions. Brooklyn Nine-Nine was another show that received a mysterious cancellation from Fox but after an internet campaign it was picked up by Amazon so the show would continue.
Lucifer leading man Tom Ellis was determined to try and find a new home for Lucifer and there was a #SaveLucifer campaign started by the fanbase and stars of the show. The good news was received today that those good guys at Netflix had picked up the show and so there will now be a Season 4 (and hopefully beyond). I can't tell you how amazing this news is for everyone here in Glitzville.
