How does your garden grow

Toni has been very busy in the garden over the past couple of days. It's all looking rather fabulous!

Back to work, gardens and Lucifer

After a wonderful bank holiday weekend it was a real struggle going back into the office today. It's quite sad really as I was actually thinking I would rather be doing stuff in the garden rather than working LOL.

On the plus side I had a nice little run in with someone who thought he understand politics but appeared to only be able to recite garbage from the right wing press then claimed to not support either of the two main parties but was tired of all the Conservative bashing! Wait, what? This was on a thread where the Torygraph was bashing Labour (and Corbyn) and people were providing a few facts!

After work I did end up doing stuff in the garden as it was overdue for a mow so I rectified that situation! Looks great now and Toni was very happy.

Dinner was accompanied by the final episode of Lucifer season two and what a way to end things. That was a real  cliffhanger if ever there was one! Can't wait for season three and the wait is going to seem like forever.

Beauty And The Beast

Today we were back at the cinema, this time at Cineworld in The O2. The Beauty And The Beast remake was our viewing choice as we wanted to catch one of the final showings before it ended.

Toni and Sam really wanted to see this but I was highly sceptical. I was concerned that something brilliant would be thoroughly ruined by taking it live action.

Boy was I wrong! The whole thing was brilliant. Any fears I'd had were totally misplaced and what we were treated to was a visual treat with all the songs that we've all come to know and love. The CGI of the characters was amazing and was totally believable. All of the actors were tremendous and the cartoon and story was really brought to life (full pun intended). Even though I knew the story the acid test for this being successful was that for the last ten-fifteen minutes I went all mushy and had a fair few tears.

If you didn't manage to catch this one at the cinema then definitely get it on DVD/Bluray or catch on your fav routine streaming app. Highly highly recommended.

Bones marathon

We did have plans for today but they were suspended in favour of a Bones marathon.

Bones is an American TV series. The show is based on forensic anthropology and forensic archaeology, with each episode focusing on an FBI case file concerning the mystery behind human remains brought by FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth to forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan and the personal lives of the characters.

We've been hooked for a while now and have conquered five seasons. Today our plans were pushed to one side while we watched 11 episodes of the sixth season LOL.

If you liked the X-Files style and the will they/won't they relationship then you may well enjoy Bones.

King Arthur and Pirates Of The Caribbean

It was cinema day for us today as we headed for Cineworld in Bexleyheath for a double viewing.

First on the menu was King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword. I didn't hold out much hope for this as some of the reviews had been quite brutal. My fears were unnecessary though. I thought the film was brilliant. It was classic Guy Ritchie, a blend of Sherlock Holmes and God Of War. This is definitely how to make a fantasy film. There were some nice twists on the myth and plenty of bits of humour.  The whole film looked wonderful and had a great soundtrack and it makes you wonder whether the critics actually watched the whole film at all. For me this is one where the critics completely got it wrong and probably missed lots of things that actually make the film great. I'd recommend it most highly.

Here's the trailer for those of you that haven't seen it:

Next up was Pirates Of The Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge (renamed form Dead Men Tell No Tales). Here we had another film where the critics had not been kind and we wondered what they had watched. This was a much needed return to form for the Pirates franchise with lots of hooks back into the things that made it great in the first place. The story was solid and the sets, costumes and effects were stunning. Johnny Depp once again nails it as Captain Jack Sparrow. Stick around for the clip at the end of the credits, it's worth it!

Trailer time:

Two fantastic films that I would recommend to anyone.

Clothes party and Cards Against Humanity

After work tonight I jumped on a train at Fenchurch Street and headed out to East Tilbury ready for a night of fun (yes, fun can be had in East Tilbury LOL). I was picked up by Toni and Helen at the train station and then it was back to Helen's to grab something to eat before the evening of fun began.

The clothes party was a low key affair with a few people and a good range of things to look at. Toni and I did end buying a couple of pieces each :)

After the party Toni, Helen, Keith and I sat down to play Cards Against Humanity. It turned out to be a bit of a marathon session with us playing for around 3.5 hours. It was suck a laugh, we had a brilliant time and had to force ourselves to go home.

Final Wonder Woman trailer

Well it is almost release time and we've just had the final Wonder Woman trailer appear and it is EPIC.

The trailers and TV spots have looked wonderful so I have very high hopes that this is one movie that DC won't screw up! It will provide a good foundation as we head to the release of Justice League.

Spider-Man Homecoming clip

I like me a bit of Spider-Man. I've enjoyed all the films that we have had so far and I am really looking forward to the latest reboot Spider-Man Homecoming (this is the first with a tie-in with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A new segment of clips has just been released which fills me with great joy.

Garden stuff

Toni and I were up early today sorting out some stuff in the garden. It's looking really lovely out there now.

More pics to come as we finish off other bits out there :)
