Novelty start, Avenger's gaming, Rangers and Despicable Me 3

Didn't get up until 09:30 today which was a real novelty as normally I am awake long before that and end up just getting up. Decided to jump on the PS4 for some Marvel's Avengers single player fun. It's a game that I can take slow and steady which is perfect for me. Very happy as I now have Iron Man to toy with!

We nervously started watching the New York Rangers v New York Islanders game from last night. It was nervous due to how badly the first game went. A very encouraging first period ended with the Rangers leading 2 - 0. Second period continued to build well and ended with Rangers now leading 4 - 0. The Rangers won the game 5 - 0. It was like watching a completely different team so hopefully thy are now passed opening night nerves and are settling down as a team. 

We then moved on to the Carolina Hurricanes v Detroit Red Wings game. This was much closer game until the final 2 minutes. It was tied 2 - 2 and then Detroit had a surge and they won the game 4 - 2.

Dinner today was a roast chicken that I had marinated in a Nando's peri peri sauce. I was amazing even if I do say so myself LOL 

Despicable Me 3 was the movie of choice tonight for some Gru and Minions goodness.

We finished the day off with some more NHL catch up and then some Miami Ink.

New Avengers Endgame trailer is out!

The final trailer for Avengers Endgame has now dropped and it's one hell of a ride! There's also a very nice poster too!

It's still six weeks away but I am now getting really excited for April 26th! Check out the latest trailer here:

A visit to a client and Infinity War

Today was another chance to go onsite with a client and help them resolve some issues. Just after lunch I headed to Westminster to the good deed. I'm no conspiracy theorist but it was funny how heading up Horse Guard Avenue and passed the Ministry Of Defence building that both Google and Apple Maps refused to function at all. They wouldn't provide any man information, just a blue dot and nothing else. This situation continued until I had passed Downing Street and was almost at Westminster Bridge and then suddenly they burst back into life!

I did eventually reach my destination.

I was only there for about an hour but I managed to get everything resolved and then I had a very happy client. The view for the tourists isn't so great at some of our mighty attractions at the moment LOL

I like days like these. I then headed back to the office to continue working. It was a LONG day today as I didn't actually leave to head home until gone 6pm.

It was such a relief to get home to some lovely food and to watch Avengers Infinity War. Such a great emotional film that doesn't lose the feels no matter how many times I watch it.

Thor: Ragnarok

The day today was saved by a trip to Cineworld Bexleyheath to go and see Thor: Ragnarok.

Oh wow is all I have to say. This is best of the Thor movies so far. They've injected some Guardians style humour and visuals into it that make to work so well. Hulk's appearance is sublime and Loki as ever is the perfect opposite of Thor and yet the come closer together. No spoilers here but the plot was great. As with all Marvel films, don't leave until the end of the credits or you'll miss out

If you were less fond of the Thor movie then this will be the one for you to enjoy.

This was a much needed piece of light relief from chaos at work!

Thor; Ragnarok trailer

The latest trailer for Thor: Ragnarok is now with us and I am getting good feelings about this one.

I've always enjoyed the Thor offerings in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Ragnarok looks to be another good blend of action and humour.

Decluttering, Legion and a Marvel teaser

Toni and I did some major decluttering in the bedroom today hitting our wardrobes big style. Lots of stuff will be upcycled, lots of things will be looking for new homes on eBay and now we have well organised clothes and much less of them :)

We checked out the first episode of a brand new Marvel TV show called Legion. I won't share anything about it on here as I think it's good to go in blind like we did. The first episode was brilliant and the show should be a real hit.


Marvel have just released this little teaser for the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War film. This will see many of the heroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe meet in one film. We'll have Avengers, Guardians Of The Galaxy and Spider-Man plus many others I expect.


Marvel are continuing to put out great content, I really hope that can maintain these high standards.

Avengers: Age Of Ultron

It was off to see Avengers: Age Of Ultron for the second time tonight (I did't blog it on Tuesday). I don't want to risk any spoilers so I'll just say that if you are a fan of the Marvel Avengers films then you certainly won't be disappointed with Age Of Ultron. For me this was one of the best so far as it introduces Scarlet Witch , a character that I love.

The Stuffed Olive, chill out and more sci-fi

We skipped the morning today and got up in time to take Pam out for lunch LOL. We decided to try somewhere new and so went to The Stuffed Olive in Sidcup. They offer lots of greek food but Pam and I fancied roast. It was pork for her and beef for me while Toni had chicken with a greek salad. Choosing pudding was slightly more difficult LOL...

Sticky toffee pudding for me, raspberry cheescake for Pam and lemon posset for Toni. It was absolutely delicious. Very nice to go somewhere different for a change and find good food at a reasonable price. Well worth checking out if you happen to be in the area. www.thestuffedoliverestaurant.com

Once we got home suitably stuffed it was back to the old chill out and more chill out. Spider-Man 3 and Avengers Assemble was out starter for ten! Finished the night off watching Ghost Rider and then had a relatively early one as it's back to work tomorrow!

A WTF day, osteopath, Marvel updates and The Strain

This was my day today. Not much to say about it other than this:

After work I had a good session at the osteopath. We are out of phase one which is pain management and on to phase two which is the recovery part. As such I was manipulated and pulled about far more vigourously than previous sessions. I was a little bit stiff and achy but is's all good. The osteopath estimates another five (ish) sessions and hopefully I will be done. Fingers crossed!

Some of this is a bit late but I never got round to commenting on it but there have been a few new updates in the Marvel Universe of late. First up is the announcement that the next comic book Captain America will be Sam "The Falcon" Wilson, an African America. I haven't seen much grumbling about this but I am sure that there will be plenty of people upset that Captain America is no longer white although this isn't actually the first time that he has been black. Basically the current Captain America, Steve Rogers, finds he has lost his extraordinary strength and hands over the CA mantle to his friend. Personally I like this, it's actually no big deal in reality.

In more ground breaking, and fan boy upsetting, territory came the announcement that the latest incarnation of Thor will be female. We aren't getting the usual cop out of them creating a Lady Thor. This is THE Thor. There have been some pretty extreme reactions to this news but I like the diversity that Marvel are embracing and the fact that they are prepared to push limits. Thor is about to be deemed unworthy for reasons yet to be revealed. Subsequently, it would appear, a worthy lady will take up the ancient hammer and fight for cosmic justice. For those of you that are quaking with rage at this thought, here is an inscription from Thor's hammer which was publish in What If? Volume 2 #66 back in October 1994:

In less revolutionary news, Iron Man gets a new suit but is still Tony Stark as Marvel announce Superior Iron Man.

All of these character will be joining Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man, The Winter Soldier, Deathlok, Medusa, Angela and Inferno for what will become the Avengers Now comic strand. 

Marvel also announce five new film dates through until 2019 (marked with * below). No word yet as to what the titles will be. Here's the latest run down of titles and proposed dates (some of which may or may not happen):

After a catch up on the latest episode of True Blood we stayed in vampire mode. Next up was the first episode of new vampire horror drama The Strain. A plane lands at John F. Kennedy International Airport with the lights off and doors sealed. Epidemiologist Dr. Ephraim Goodweather and his team are sent to investigate. On board they find two hundred corpses and four survivors. The situation deteriorates when the bodies begin disappearing from morgues. Goodweather and a small group of helpers find themselves battling to protect not only their own loved ones, but the entire city, from an ancient threat to humanity.

The Strain is an interesting take on the old vampire myth There are some really stupid plot holes and the script can be a bit rough around the edges but that doesn't spoil the fun! If you like vampires or something with a horror edge then The Strain is definitely worth checking out.
