Mild weather walk, baking, Harry Potter reading challenge, Drag Race

I am loving this mild weather that we are having at the moment as it makes my morning walks very pleasant. I did my round today and wished many Happy New Year greetings to familiar dog walking faces before diverting to the Co-op for a few supplies.

When I got home it was time for the weekly roll baking so that Toni has her usual supply.

I then settled in with a cuppa and decided that the first books in my Goodreads.com reading challenge for 2022 would be all of the Harry Potter books, I haven't read them before and decided that it was about time I did. I'm rising above all of the noise about her online and intend to just read the books without undue influence from the internet. You can find me on Goodreads here:

We finished off season two of Canada's Drag Race this afternoon. Compared with the US and UK versions this one always seems a little lacklustre but there were some good moments in it. This one was one of those rate occasions where we didn't actually mind who won as Icesis Clouture, Kendall Gender and Pythia were all very good. Congratulations to Icesis Couture though on getting the win.

My Sunday roast was accompanied by Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, continuing our Wizarding World adventures.

Day off (ash), Harry Potter and Wizarding World goodness and the Book Of Boba Fett

Well today was supposed to be the first day off until New Year. It didn't quite work out like that though as I pretty much called into a disaster as soon as I woke up! Thankfully it didn't take too long to resolve. I was also on call this evening but thankfully that was quiet.

It was a Harry Potter day as we made our way through the last of the films. First up was Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince

It was then into the final straight with Deathly Hallows Part 1.......

..... and then Deathly Hallows Part 2

Carrying on the Wizarding World theme we then moved onto Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.

Our viewing concluded with The Crimes Of Grindelwald.

This little gem popped up on various Star Wars/Lucasfilm/Disney social media pages today so it was great news to have it confirmed that The Book Of Boba Fett is a spin-off from The Mandalorian, set in the same timeline, It will be a short series leading into Season 3 of The Mandalorian. The Book Of Boba Fett launches in December 2021 with The Mandalorian kicking off again on 25th December 2021. this little surprise was kept from the Disney Invetor's call and was kept as a surprise in the credits of the info episode of The Mandalorian.

Say-Gah, Fantastic Beasts and fun with the Lowes

This morning was made of nostalgia. Yesterday Toni bought me a Sega Megadrive all in one console with 85 games on it. Today it was activated! Oh the joys of starting up Sonic The Hedgehog and hearing that wonderful Say-Gah (Sega) sound.

My starting point was brief sessions on Sonic The Hedgehog, Kid Chamelon, Columns, Chakan and Bonanza Brothers. Oh so much fun to be had here. This console also has an active cartridge port so I can pick up a few other games over time (Cool Spot and Aladdin are top of my list).

Breakfast of bacon and eggs was accompanied by the most excellent Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them to round off our Harry Potter and related viewing. I'd forgotten how good this film was and can't wait for the sequel Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald next November.

Our evening was spent in Essex in the company of Helen and Keith. The plan had been to play games but we never got that far as we were just having too much fun chatting and messing about. It was a fantastic night with great company. Shadow also entertained us with his wacky bag antics.

The only bad thing today was Zoe throwing up as soon as the car pulled up at home at the end of the night. Thankfully she'd managed to hold it together for the last part of the route. Not a very pleasant way for her night to end so we settled her down and got her to bed.

This excitement over it was time for a cup of tea and some New York Rangers v Detroit Red Wings action.

Harry Potter Studio Tour

Today we were up early for a Sunday as we headed off to Watford Junction to meet friends to embark on the Harry Potter Studio Tour.

Once we'd all met up we waited on the bus to the studio. It's a shame it wasn't a Knight Bus that turned up to get us LOL.

It wasn't long before we arrived

As we started the tour we popped onto pottermore.com and signed up to be sorted into our houses. I was sorted into Ravenclaw, my patronus is a Red Squirrel and my wand is Chestnut wood with a phoenix feather core:

The tour was amazing, I took so many photos and we had great fun

It appears I am now a fully certified Harry Potter fan so it's time to actually read the books.

If you like the world of Harry Potter then you will LOVE the studio tour. I can't recommend it highly enough and we are definitely going to back for another visit.
