Weirdness, new toy, League Of Gentleman

Tonight was a strange one as it was the first time that Toni and I haven't been together on a Friday in a LONG time. Wasn't a deliberate choice as such, Toni has to be in London first thing tomorrow for the handyman to do some work on her house and I needed to be in SWF as Livvy and Connor were staying over because I am taking them and Sam to see Bolt Thrower tomorrow. Will be seeing Toni tomorrow but it has been strange not being with her tonight.

My new toy, the iPhone arrived today and I have slowly been getting to grips with it. This blog is from my iPhone!

Spent the evening watching The League Of Gentlemen with Sam, Livvy & Connor. I forget how funny it is.

iPhone a go go & night in Eltham

Had a lovely text from O2 today saying my priority status has been upgraded from silver to gold which means I now qualify for an upgrade 3 months early, which is now YAY!

I didn't waste any time and called them up to arrange my upgrade to an iPhone. It won't be long before I have a nice new shiny toy in my possession *grin*

Spent the night in Eltham with Toni. Spicy mince and rice for dinner and then chilling on the sofa :o)

Day off, doing the garden and chilling

Had another day off today.
Got loads done, washing was done, most of tidying was done and I even managed to mow both the front and back lawns. Hopefully the weather will stay good so I can have one more pass over it and we can have a BBQ at the weekend.

After the chores, the rest of the days was spent catching up with WWE TV, NXT, Extreme Rules and the RAW Draft.

Sam and I then watched Enemy At The Gates before playing on the PS3.

For your viewing pleasure I would like to submit these two little gems:

Shopping, Sam's Restaurant, shopping and the rest of V

Today has been lovely. Toni and I were both off of work.
We went to Chelmsford first thing and dropped off Sam at Chelmsford College. Toni and I then went and enjoyed Starbucks before having a good mooch around the shops and bought some nice things.

We then made our way to the restaurant at Chelmsford College where Sam and his fellow students were presenting a meal to family and friends. It was fantastic, I was so proud of Sam.

After the meal Sam then gave us a tour of the production kitchen and allowed a rare photo-opportunity:

Sam in the production kitchen at Chelmsford College

Toni and I then went and did more shopping while Sam finished off at college and then we went and picked him up and went back home.

The rest of the evening was spent watching the rest of the V reboot (well up to the last broadcast episode anyway) then followed by a catch up on The Vampire Diaries.

It's been a wonderful day!

Rough night, brunch, chilling, lasagne and V

Following our wacky exploits I had a pretty rough night. Woke up in the middle of the night with bad reflux and then realised my heart was doing ten to the dozen. Turns out that drinking 6 Red Bull and vodkas was NOT a good idea especially following all the caffeine I had drunk earlier in the day. From that moment on it was a struggle to get to sleep and stay asleep as you can imagine! Thankfully I did manage to get some but I was wide awake when we all decided to surface.

Dan and I cleaned the kitchen while Toni and Laura popped out to Lidl and then we made them both a lovely cooked brunch when they returned. Well, I handled most of the cooking duties and Dan assisted LOL.

After brunch we then chilled out chatting and listening to music before heading back to SWF with Dan and Laura. We then settled down to chat, had a scrummy lasagne that Toni made and watched a couple of episodes of the new V reboot. A great way to round off a fantastic weekend.

Heather's birthday bash at The Alex

After a great start to our evening with Sammy, Toni and I scooted off to Dan and Laura's in Southend to go to The Alex for Heather's birthday bash.

There were so many people there, it was a great night out. Lots if drinking and laughter. It was wonderful to see so many old Evo friends all out and in the same place once again.

Sammy's, Indian and Wii fun

Toni and I went over to see Sammy's new flat this afternoon. It's a lovely little place and was nice to see her so happy and getting on with things.

We had a yummy Indian for dinner and then had fun and games playing Wii Sports Resort.

Adam Bomb & Guns 2 Roses @ The Railway

Pootled off to Bromley with Toni tonight to go and meet Armitage (who brought along Jodie and Mark) and we prepared for our evening at that bastion of pre-rock n roll debauchery Pizza Express!

Following delicious food, drinking and chat we headed off to The Railway, a pub that looked "rough as a badger's arse". Tonights shenanigans were in aid of Help For Heroes so we didn't mind paying £5 to get in. Lots of people there when we arrived and it all felt "very metal" LOL.

Jo, Armitage, Mark and Toni:

Toni and I:

ADAM BOMB
The delightful Adam Bomb has been around forever and somehow has always managed to evade real fame and fortune but it certainly wasn't for lack of talent on his part. the show tonight was exactly that, a show! Adam Bomb might have been the "support" act but he came across like the headliner. We had great songs (plus some Kiss tracks and an awesome version of New York York), great musicians, some awesome solos and flames and fireworks galore (much to the distress of The Railway management).

See all the ADAM BOMB pics here: 230410AdamBombTheRailway#

After Adam Bomb's set we could quite happily all have left and felt that we got fantastic value for money. There was, however, more to come..........

I had heard great things about Guns 2 Roses. They are deemed "The Official Guns N Roses Tribute" and claim to have approval from original members of Guns N Roses. They boldly state, "... totally focused on not only cloning the sound of GNR better than the rest.... Simply put you want Guns N Roses go see Guns 2 Roses. Guranteed you will see a different show everytime."

If you are totally focused on cloning the sound then you had better damn well do that. The intro to Welcome sounded similar but certainly NOT a clone. Toni was gagging to leave before the end of the first song. I said I wanted to stay for another. Next up was It's So Easy, the crazy thing is that this song IS easy to play but sadly we didn't get a real clone of that either. Note to Axl copy, don't worry so much about the look, concentrate on actually trying to properly sing the songs you are paying tribute to. Oh and if you want to learn to move like Axl, go and watch some Shark Island footage and watch Richard Black (then you can rip off his moves like Axl did) rather than coming across like a Kid Rock/Fred Durst wannabe.

In short, I didn't like Guns 2 Roses, they were woefully disappointing and certainly didn't do what it said on the tin. Toni and I left after two numbers and Mark and Jodie had retreated to the rear of the venue when we went.

They didn't spoil the night but they should not have been headlining this, Adam Bomb completely blew them away and then some!

Total Eclipse.........

This is what we need more of!!!! LMFAO

Another song in the bag for Hollywood Doll

Despite Steve being ill and sadly absent, HOLLYWOOD DOLL had a really good rehearsal tonight. All the songs are hanging together well and we have now polished off another one to add to our growing repertoire. That's ten songs that we have complete so far, nine originals and a cover, and very soon we'll have at least three more originals thrown into the mix.

We all work so well together that songwriting is a real breeze which just makes things so much easier.

Am fairly sure it won't be long now before we are looking at doing some gigs, plus we'll be finishing off at least one song that we can let you all hear officially soon.

and now for something completely different, SABBATH!

BLACK SABBATH songs as you probably haven't heard them before!

Stressy day, fish pie and hair dye

Today was a bit stressful. Sometimes things just get silly and you need a break from it all so it was nice to scoot off to Eltham after work to spend the night with Toni.

Toni made the most DELICIOUS fish pie for dinner. It was fantastic, so nice (not ince), yummy yummy nom nom!

Browsing and chilling and getting excited (more on this excitement in a later blog) followed.

Rounded the evening off with Toni dyeing my hair for me.

Life is good!

Wrassling and the Who!

When I got in I called mum to wish her happy birthday and have a quick catch up. She is coming to stay for 12 days in May (when I have my operation) which I am really looking forward to (seeing mum, not the operation!).

Monday night routine then kicked as usual which was great. Sam and I catching up with the recent WWE broadcasts (Smackdown and NXT) and just generally chilling out.

Next up was episode three of the new Dr Who series, Victory Of The Daleks. We like the Daleks, Daleks are cool and the new ones are awesome! The new Doctor took a bit of getting used but I am starting to quite like him now. Roll on the next episode!

Sam had an early night and so I finished off my day chatting to Toni and then having a nice relaxing bath.

Happy Birthday Mum!

Happy Birthday mum,

Hope you have a great day.
Have some presents for you when you come down soon :o)

Lazing, shopping and lunch with the Scott mob and dyeing

Nice relaxed start to the day. Got up, did naff all and had some breakfast.

We then went to pick up Gemima from Nick's before going to see Toni's mum and get Aaron. Stopped for a cup of tea which then turned into stay for ages as Jade was in with Lucy. Toni and I popped out to the shops to get some bits and then we went back again. It was decided that we would all go out for Sunday dinner with everybody.

Toni, Aaron, Gemima and I got the the Harvester in Falconwood and we asked for a table for twelve(Toni, Aaron, Gemima, Gail, Jamie, Jade, Lucy, Leanne, Anthony, Shivanni, Maggie and I)! We were told it might be a bit of a wait. They weren't joking! Turned out it was an hour but it was worth the wait. Food was lovely and it was quite nice to spend some time with everybody.

Once we had all gone out separate ways again and we had got back to Toni's I had the "pleasure" of helping dye her hair. Normally this wouldn't be a problem as I am used to sticking one colour on top of another but this was a different kettle of fish. We were bleaching it first (well at least the top half) and the colouring it. I have never done bleaching before so was praying that everything went OK. One hour in I was getting worried as I could see that parts had taken well but others were not so good.

Phew! I got away with it, Toni's hair looks great so I guess I get to live LOL

Bumming, shopping, plumbing and steak

Had a nice lay morning today. No rush to get up and do anything at all and it was bliss.

We went into Eltham for breakfast, well it was more like lunch by the time we got there, and had jacket potatoes at Dee Light.

The delights of food shopping then followed (Lidl and Sainsburys), a trip to Argos and then off to B&Q to get some plumbing stuff. My mum would be so proud of me as I went into the garden centre part of B&Q (still can't believe it myself)!

When we got back to Toni's I then de-constructed the crap plumbing under the sink and rebuilt it all again with nice shiny new parts. I am now pleased to announce that the one way valve works just fine and Toni can now use the sink and washing machine independently without fear of the sink contents/water ending up inside the washing machine, go me!

Dinner tonight was a fantastically juicy steak, a few chips and some roasted vegetables, which rounded the day off very nicely.

Friday 16 April 2010

Kick Ass, indian and Monty Python

Went to to North Greenwich to meet Toni after work and we ended up making an impromptu visit to the cinema. Toni was tempted by Clash Of The Titans but based on reviews and friends comments we decided to see Kick Ass instead. It's an awesome film, very funny and silly in places but has a great storyline and some wonderful characters.

We then went back to Eltham and enjoyed an indian whilst indulging in some Monty Python silliness.

This was on b3ta and is quite topical and tickled me so here you are:

Hollywood Doll rehearsal tonight

Toni picked me up from work and we headed back to SWF for kebabs and then made our way to Southend for the HOLLYWOOD DOLL rehearsal.

It went really, really well. Even though Marie was unable to make it we had a really productive session and all the songs are starting to sound fantastic. Dynamics are falling into place and the overall sound is superb. Am really looking forward to recording some of the new songs and also starting to plan when we hit the road.

Great band, great girlfriend, life is GOOD!

Guitars, wrestling and Turning Japanese

Had Matt and Graham over after work tonight to do some work on Hollywood Doll songs in preparation for our HOLLYWOOD DOLL rehearsal tomorrow night. All went well and once again the structure of songs is coming along very nicely.

Once they had gone Sam and I settled down to catch up with WWE RAW and the wonders of The Hoff as guest host, BRILLIANT!

Last but not least, here is a fabulous Kirsten Dunst video of Turning Japanese:

Guitars... introducing ThunderKitty!

Well today was a great day for me as my shiny new Thunderbird IV base guitar arrived. She has now been named ThunderKitty. Here she is:

Here is the rest of the mob:

Wrestling and Dr Who

Got in from work and chilled out chatting to Sam. We then watched WWE Smackdown to get that out of the way before this weeks edition of RAW.

Quick break was in order to have some yummy chicken noodle soup before we indulged in watching the final three episodes of the Dr Who - The Specials DVDs, the last ones containing David Tennant. The End Of Time parts 1 and 2 were awesome, classic Who!

Essex Hurricane Appeal

ESSEX HURRICANE APPEAL

A major hurricane (Hurricane Shazza) and earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter Scale hit Essex in the early hours of Thursday with its epicentre in Basildon. Victims were seen wandering around aimlessly, muttering "Faaackinell".

The hurricane decimated the area causing approximately £30 worth of damage. Several priceless collections of mementos from Majorca and the Costa Del Sol were damaged beyond repair. Three areas of historic burnt out cars were disturbed. Many locals were woken well before their giros arrived.

Essex FM reported that hundreds of residents were confused and bewildered and were still trying to come to terms with the fact that something interesting had happened in Basildon. One resident - Tracy Sharon Smith, a 15-year-old mother of 5 said, "It was such a shock, my little Chardonnay-Mercedes came running into my bedroom crying. My youngest two, Tyler-Morgan and Victoria-Storm slept through it all. I was still shaking when I was skinning up and watching Trisha the next morning." Apparently looting, muggings and car crime were unaffected and carried on as normal.

The British Red Cross has so far managed to ship 4,000 crates of Sunny Delight to the area to help the stricken locals. Rescue workers are still searching through the rubble and have found large quantities of personal belongings, including benefit books, jewellery from Elizabeth Duke at Argos and Bone China from Poundland.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

This appeal is to raise money for food and clothing parcels for those unfortunate enough to be caught up in this disaster. Clothing is most sought after - items most needed include:
Fila or Burberry baseball caps
Kappa tracksuit tops (his and hers)
Shell suits (female)
White sport socks
Rockport boots
Any other items usually sold in Primark.

Food parcels may be harder to come by but are needed all the same. Required foodstuffs include:
Microwave meals
Tins of baked beans
Ice cream
Cans of Colt 45 or Special Brew
22p buys a biro for filling in the compensation forms
£2 buys chips, crisps and blue fizzy drinks for a family of 9
£5 buys B&H and a lighter to calm the nerves of those affected.

**Breaking news**
Rescue workers found a girl in the rubble smothered in raspberry alco-pop.

"Where are you bleeding from?" they asked,
"Romford" said the girl, "woss that gotta do wiv you?"

Please don't forward this to anyone living in Essex - oh, sod it, they won't be able to read it, anyway.

How To Train Your Dragon 3D and seeing Sophie and Scarlett

Toni and I got up and had a nice breakfast and then trundled off to the cinema in Greenwich. There is something satisfyingly naughty about two adults going to see a kids film without the kids LOL. We chose to see the IMAX 3D version of How To Train Your Dragon, indulged in Premier seating and lots of popcorn and chocolate!

It is a fantastic film and despite it looking like it is a kids film it is very entertaining. If you get a chance, DO go and see it!

After the film we went back to Eltham and packed and then headed off to Sophie's to see her and Scarlett and give Sophie her birthday presents.

Was lovely to see them both. Can't believe that Sophie is 20! The years have just flown by. Scarlett is now walking around all the time now whereas last time we saw her she was only testing her legs.

Happy Birthday Sophie

Happy Birthday to my not so little baby girl Sophie

Hope you have a great day
