Caffeine day, Rangers blank the Oilers and Google Maps Pokemon Lab

Having had a fantastic weekend it was a shame to get back to the real world again today. Getting up was a bit of a struggle and I felt really sluggish as I was waiting at the bus stop with Sam. I felt hungover even though I wasn't. A caffeine fuelled day was in order and thankfully it was a relatively easy one. Sam was back on the early shift so it was nice to be able to leave at five and be home by six again rather than nearer seven.

Got in and did a catch up on the New York Rangers v Edmonton Oilers game from last night as we were too tired to even attempt to watch it. What a game! First period ended 1 - 0 to the Rangers after a Zuccarello tip-on. The Rangers then went on a major offensive after that. A power play goal from Brassard made it 2 - 0. Nash then made it 3 - 0 five minutes later. Nash then netted a short handed goal less than five minutes after that taking the Rangers to a 4 - 0 lead at the end of the second period. Zuccarello made it 5 - 0 with another short handed goal at the start of the third. The Rangers won the game 5 - 0 and Talbot picked up his third shutout of the season. A much needed two points in the bag which kept the Rangers in second place.

The Google Maps app was blessed with a Pokemon Labs add on today. There was an option to go in search of Pokemon on the Google Maps landscape.

This is the Pokemon Centre where you start out:

As you catch Pokemon they get placed in Pokeballs on the map:

I didn't go mad but I did manage to catch some of my favourite Pokemon: Pichu, Pikachu, Raichu and Meowth:

Well played to those that made it possible for this to happen as an April Fool's day treat! Remember that this was launched in another time zone where it was already April 1st.

Happy Mother's Day

M-O-T-H-E-R
"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she’s growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,
"H" is for her heart of purest gold;
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she’ll always be,
Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER",
A word that means the world to me.

Had a nice call with mum first thing this morning just before we set off back to Sidcup from Maidstone. Although we are not seeing her today she will be coming down for the Easter weekend to celebrate her birthday!

We had a gathering of the clans at Ziyafet this afternoon to celebrate Mother's Day with Toni, Pam, Leanne, Sam, Bob, Jade, Aaron, Gemima, Shivaani and Indy in attendance. Had a nice meal together and everyone left stuffed (apart from Sam who wasn't hungry LOL).

Anne Atkins' fabulous birthday bash!

Toni and I hit Maidstone tonight to go and visit our friend Anne to attend her birthday party! We got there early and so pitched in with the final preparations accompanied by jello shots and cherry mead. The jello shots became a bit of a recurring theme throughout the night.

We were presented with fairy wings to kick things off:

There was food, there was music, there was alcohol (including a seemingly never ending supply of jello shots).

....behind you!

So take, these broken wings :(

I believe I can fly:

Toni crocheted Anne a wonderful hat for her birthday:

The start of the firepit:

Toni just looking gorgeous as ever:

The revellers:

Anne was well on her way to having a fun birthday!

Of course no party is complete without some shambolic dancing and this one was no exception. With The Dolmen blasting out we had a little jig.

The rest of the night was spent chatting around the firepit where the jello shots made another mysterious entrance!

At 5am we called it a night and headed for our crash space having a bloody brilliant night with some amazing people!

Off sick and then de-cluttering and burning

I was off sick today which wasn't a barrel of laughs! I'll spare the details LOL

In the evening Toni and I had a bit of a de-clutter in the office. It was long overdue and felt really good to have achieved so much. We decided to commit a lot of our rubbish to the great fire gods. It was all quite impressive and we got to try out our new camping moon chairs too.

From Rishta WIth Love

There was a knock at the door this afternoon and when I opened it the manager of Rishta (our local Indian) was standing there. He had brought round a card and some flowers for Pam following her turn in the restaurant the other day. Such a lovely gesture from them. From Rishta With Love! *grin*

I don't know, the things that woman does for attention! LOL

Sam & Minion and Rangers move to second after overtime win

In a rare moment of getting in front of a camera Sam was caught cuddling a Minion!

I am pleased to report that his toe is really starting to heal well now. He walks around the house without his crutches and has now started only taking one to work which is really good.

After our usual TV catch ups (Believe and Cosmos tonight) we settled down for the New York Rangers v Phoenix Coyotes game. There was a big presentation ceremony for Henrik Lundqvist to start the night celebrating his 302+ wins and 50 shutouts. All was good and then the game started! With ten minutes the Coyotes were leading 0 - 2. This was how the first period ended. I was almost tempted to go to bed and give up at that point. I am glad that I didn't. In the first ten minutes of the second the Rangers had tied it up 2 - 2. Sadly those pesky Coyotes made it 2 - 3 and the second period ended with the Rangers behind again! It took until 16:32 into the third period before the Rangers equalised again and we were then headed into overtime.

This was a game that the Rangers needed to win. The Flyers had just been beaten and a win would take the Rangers from third to second. The hockey gods were smiling down tonight though and Ryan McDonagh snagged the 4 - 3 winning goal and we went to bed tired but very happy with another Rangers win!
