Well actually they weren't from Mars, they were from the green metal cupboard in our back garden!
Had the unenviable task of clearing out the shed and green metal cupboard this weekend and encountered a hoard of "lovely" arachnids that I had to negotiate to get the job done! It was no fun at all but I did manage it in the end! Glad that job is now complete as I don't really want to become re-acquainted with them!
