Birthday meal, excitement and no Johnny!

The Beachcombers restaurant in Greenwich was where we ended with Toni's family to celebrate Gail's 61st birthday. Despite the rain it was a good day and we all enjoyed fishy goodness for lunch. Those present were Gail, Pam, Leanne, Jamie, Toni, Gemima, Aaron, Shivanni and little old me.

While we were in the restaurant the police started diverting traffic away from one of the roads immediately outside which caused great intrigue. We watched about 4 fire engines, 4 ambulances and some chemical support vehicles go by but it took ages to find out exactly what was going on. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology (Twitter and the #Greenwich tag) we managed to ascertain that there was a problem in the cellar of the Admiral Hardy which turned out to be toxic fumes caused by a mixing of bleach and floor cleaning fluid. By the time we left things were just starting to clear.

Sadly, despite Pirates Of The Caribbean 4 being filmed in Greenwich at the moment there was not a Johnny Depp in sight :o(
