The mood at work was much better today although there is still a horrible lack of motivation and feeling of inertia but at least it wasn't completely grim like last week which was a relief! The only down side of today was that some work became urgent and a couple of us had to stay late to get it all sorted out. I got home about the time that I would do if I had to work in London which just has me hoping that they are flexible about hours so I can get in early and leave early.
Got home and chilled out on my own for a bit as Sam was crashed out after his exams today.
When he woke up he proudly announced that he got FOUR Merits out of a possible five and he will be going back next Monday to do the fifth again to try and make it FIVE. I am delighted that he is doing do well and is really enjoying his course too.
We spent the evening chatting and caught up with some WWE TV before both having an early night

Chilling, Warhammer 40K, 4- 0, ironing
Today was another day of not having to do very much and it was most welcome! We got up at a reasonable hour and had a nice breakfast before taking some time to prepare for a Warhammer 40K battle.
It was an unusual battle for us as a) it was a 1500 point army each and b) Sam was trying out a new codex that he is in the process of writing so this was all very much a work in progress.
The game took a while to get going and only lasted two turns (although that spanned many hours) but the game was a success, Sam's new army seemed to work well and to make things even better, he didn't win, Toni did!
Much to everyone's disgust I watched Germany's 4 - 0 victory over Australia while we had dinner and then we ended up watching James Corden's World Cup Live which was actually suprisingly funny for a football programme.
Sadly tonight was a night that Toni had to return to London which she did do eventually although not without many welcome delays. I did some ironing for Sam and I and then we said our goodbyes and it was time to hit the pit.
I didn't quite manage that straight away though as I ended up talking to Toni on MSN for 45 minutes once she had returned home *grin*

Picking up the boy, shopping, BNP poster ops and chilling
Today was a day of not doing very much!
Got a text from Sam asking if we could pick him up from Chelmsford (he'd been out all night at a party) so we went and picked him up (leaving Aaron to cut the grass), did some shopping in Lidl before dropping Sam and Gemima back at home and nipping to Asda.
As is usual at the moment we were greeted by the sight of more stupid bloody football products. I have to admit that it is really starting to get on my wick now with all this misplaced patriotism. SWF could have been used in a BNP poster campaign with the amount of oversized flag poles and England flags flying everywhere, not to mention the streets with the bunting! There is one house in my street that flys the flag ALL the time, everybody else is just caught in transient football fever patriotism and it just sucks!
This little delight leapt out at me in Asda:
I hope all this hype really justifies the end result as England hardly got off to the most spectacular of starts to their world cup campaign. OK they didn't lost but a 1 - 1 draw with one of the worst cases of goalie fumbling I have ever seen does make me wonder why England fans think that they are going to win the World Cup. Time will tell I guess but I wonder how long it will be before we see all those wonderful flags ripped down and thrown in the bin?
The rest of the evening was spent eating yummy chicken, ribs and salad and watching more Dave TV.

Lighter clouds, World Cup, kebabs and TV
Today at work the clouds weren't quite so dark. The mood seemed to lift a little bit which was a big relief. Things really improved by the afternoon when we were treated to beer and nibbles and were able to watch the South Africa v Mexica opening game of the World Cup.
Once I got home I had a bit of a tidy up and then chilled out until Toni arrived with Aaron and Gemima. As time was pressing on we decided to have kebabs for dinner and watch lots of TV on Dave like QI, Mock The Week and Have I Got News For You.

Black clouds again and chilling
Today was officially THE worst day I have ever experienced in an office in 22 years of working!
Morale had already hit rock bottom at the start of the week with the news that there were going to be some redundancies but today everything just escalated :o(
One colleague was told yesterday that his role is redundant and although there "could" be another role for him he now feels a bit in limbo although at least there is a glimmer of hope. Today the 5 into 4 interviews took place and in the afternoon one guy returned to the office and announced that he was the one taking the bullet. He shook hands with everyone, packed up some stuff and then left. At this point the black clouds rolled it and everything was just shit. Productivity is suffering with so much unrest and uncertainty. Even those that do have safe jobs have lots of unanswered questions that nobody seems in any rush to address which just makes getting motivated even harder. I am sure that when the dust settles things will work out OK but at the moment it is NOT a fun place to work.
Got home and Sam and I cooked up some food and I then just chilled can caught up with the latest instalments of WWE RAW and NXT Season 2.

Dark cloud, wrestling, Ghost Ship & Hollywood Doll stuff
Well the dark cloud at work is still lingering understandably. One of my colleagues faces his "career" interview tomorrow and then on Thursday my other chums face a 5 into 4 round of similar interviews. I know it will all come out in the wash but it is all very sucky at the moment and rather unpleasant and hard to remain motivated.
The evening was spent catching up with some WWE wrestling and then Sam and I watched Ghost Ship while chowing down on some yummy chicken noodle soup.
I finished the evening doing some HOLLYWOOD DOLL stuff. More gigs coming soon!

Clever boy and dark day!
Well today has certainly been a mixed bag!
Let's start with the good stuff!
Sam had an exam at college today and walked away with TWO MERITS & A PASS. I am so proud and he was absolutely delighted. It's so nice to see him excelling at what he is doing and enjoying it too.
Now for the dark stuff.
The company I work for got bought out. We were told last week we would probably have to work out of London soon but that we all had jobs. This wasn't too bad news although the journey to London can be a pain.
Today we were told that we didn't all have jobs as there was an overlap and there would likely be some redundancies. On the plus side my job is not at risk but on the downside there are colleagues and friends of mine who are at risk and will end up being made redundant. That part sucks and really put a dark cloud over the afternoon. I have a feeling things will be pretty grim for the next week or two while the axe looms over peoples heads. Even knowing that the acquiring company will also be losing staff doesn't make the bitter pill any easier to swallow.
Still, at least I am not at risk for now and there could be some advantages to working in London.
Oh and by the way, my boy is a total star for getting TWO MERITS & A PASS! Go Sam!

Early rising, Sophie & Scarlett and stuff
Got a phone call from Sophie at 01:50 this morning. She had been taken to St John's hospital with some stomach pains by ambulance earlier in the evening but they had now discharged her but weren't prepared to take her home. So it was 2am and they wanted to let a 7 month pregnant woman walk from Chelmsford to Galleywood in the middle of a thunderstorm, NICE!
After Toni trying to appeal to the better nature of one of the nurses we reluctantly had to make the trip through rolling fog and torrential rain to pick her up and take her back home. We stayed for a while and had a chat about various things before getting home at about 4am. Needless to say it was straight to bed and crash out time!
Once we finally got up and had breakfast I got a text from Sophie saying that she wand Scarlett were coming to stay until Tuesday.
It was lovely to see Scarlett today even though she is into everything and you really have to keep an eye on her to stop her getting into mischief. The downside of all this meant that the option of going to the Rage Against The Machine gig was no longer there for me but I wasn't actually that bothered as it was nice to have the family all together (plus I still have my souvenir ticket intact anyway!)
In an unprecedented turn of events I made dinner for the second time this weekend! Spanish chicken and rice was well received and we then chilled out with ice cream and watched Law Abiding Citizen. After the film it was time to prepare for work in the morning and have an early night!

More chilling, Hollywood Doll stuff and Spartacus
It's been a lovely lazy day today.
Got up and did bugger all. Had a nice breakfast and then just chilled out.
Toni went out at lunchtime to give Marie a driving lesson and I got to carry on chilling out doing a load of HOLLYWOOD DOLL stuff.
Nasty man that I am, I made Sam mow the lawn for me as I am still not fully recovered LMFAO.
Pork chops, chips and Dr Who were then followed by starting to watch the first season of Spartacus: Blood And Sand. So far it looks pretty good!

Chilling, Glitzine, chilli and Baseketball
Got home from work expecting to have to tidy up and was delighted to find that Sam and had already had a good go so there was very little to do which was nice! I suspect this was because he had Livvy and Connor round rather than through a genuine desire to help but I don't mind as it meant there was not a lot that I had to do *grin*
I pottered around, chilled for a bit, and then started doing some Glitzine.net work prior to Toni arriving.
One trip to Asda later and I was cooking up a lovely chilli for us all and then we watch Baseketball. It was a very silly film was really funny moments in it and a worthy investment of £3.33. Definitely worth a watch and a major bargain at that price!

Sleepy, sleepy, SLEEP!
Everything caught up with me today!
I'd had about 6.5 hours sleep over 48 hours prior to going in to work today and I was seriously flagging by the end of it.
I went to meet Toni at North Greenwich after work and was like the walking dead. We had a lovely chicken salad for dinner and watched Smokey & The Bandit but I crashed out halfway through. Once the film ended Toni woke me up and I went to bed and fell straight asleep and that was it for me..... BLISS!

Great HOLLYWOOD DOLL rehearsal
Had a fantastic HOLLYWOOD DOLL rehearsal tonight. Musically it was productive plus we have outlined a plan for the next couple of months.
The upshot is that by mid July we should have some properly recorded songs, good photos and be in a position to try and get as many gigs as possible.
I love working with everyone in HOLLYWOOD DOLL, we just gel so well together, nothing is a hassle and it's easy to maintain focus and drive things forwards. Expect to hear more from us!

Back to work, WWE & TNA, knackered!
Today was my first day back in the office. Thankfully I didn't have to fight the manic first day of the month after a bank holiday queues as Toni gave me a lift in.
It was a strange day. Had a meeting first thing.... more on this later when I can talk about it, which kind of slowed the whole day down after that. Despite being told that I could go home whenever I felt like it I decided to stick it out and do a whole day even though I did get the odd ache every now and then. Was good to be back again though, you can only take so much sitting at home living a leisurely life.
Spent the evening chilling out watching WWE and TNA and chatting to Sam and Toni (and enjoying pork chops with creamy peppercorn sauce) before finally calling it a day and crashing out absolutely knackered.
