Took Sam to the Odeon in Chelmsford tonight to go and see Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant as he is a really big Darren Shan fan and has been waiting for this film to come out for ages. I hadn't got round to reading the books so I came out thinking it was a pretty good movie. Sam started to de-construct it and explain the things that they did wrong and not by the books. I now have the first three books to read so that I can compare them.
Overall though I would recommend it as a film, it is very watchable.
