Witch Fest @ Fairfield Halls

After food we headed off to Fairfield Halls in deepest darkest Croydon to see some bands at Witch Fest. We were aiming to get there in time to see The Veil (who we had already missed once this week) as their website said they were on at 20:00. We arrived and I bumped into Dylan, one of The Veil's guitarists, only to find out that they had been on at 19:00 (with the program saying they were on at 18:00) so once again we missed them!

Sam got whisked off backstage by Dylan for some band partying (well a free beer anyway) and then we went to watch some other bands play.

23 ENIGMA
23 Enigma had a very rocky, garage sound. They had some really good songs and seemed to be having a real good time playing. The audience was a little sparse but those that were there lapped it up. Definitely one to check out for seeing as a full set.

We missed out on Kitty Hudson in favour of taking a photo of Dylan outside The Chocolate Box......

... and then we went to see ...........

THE DOLMEN
These guys were awesome. High energy folk music that had loads of people dancing and clapping along. They also had a troupe of belly dancers accompanying them (which included our friend Katie's sister Lisa). Really really great band, well worth watching and I would love to see them again.

Last but not least we managed to get into the other hall just in time to see the last few numbers of.........

INKUBUS SUKKUBUS
I love this band although Toni, Aaron and Sam were less than impressed. The guitarist did make a prat of himself though throwing some shapes and poses that were very unbecoming of a goth band! Other than that though I thought they were really good and I would have liked to have seen a complete set so they'll definitely be on my list of bands to see in the near future.
