Wednesday 13 & Hanoi Rocks

Took Sam to the Astoria tonight to see Wednesday 13 and Hanoi Rocks. Decided to go last minute as it was announced this week that Hanoi are splitting up at the end of the year and so this will be their last tour and I couldn't pass up the chance to see them one last time.

Got home, straightened hair and then we hit the road.

Naughty boys on the train:

How rude:

Hanoi Rocks were totally awesome as usual, putting on a fine show of their classic songs. Mike Monroe was bouncing around like an excited meer cat as usual and it was lovely to see them going out with a bang. Sam loved Hanoi Rocks so job done!

Lighting wasn't great but here a few pics:

Once Hanoi Rocks had left the stage we were most delighted to see the Satanic Sluts Extreme (featuring the now (in)famous Georgina Bailiie) sitting at a table near us. Probably an invasion of her privacy but I had to grab a couple of pictures (just to prove to the guys at work that I had been in the same venue as her):

Wednesday 13 was quite entertaining, not brilliant as it all sounded quite samey (probably due to a bad mix), but worth seeing for the experience:

Vampires Rock

Toni and I went to the Cliffs Pavilion in Southend tonight to see Vampires Rock. Totally cheesey halloween pantomime, a great laugh and a very enjoyable show.

Steve Steinman has a fantastic voice and the band were awesome. OK the tenuous storyline wrapped around some classic rock songs was very cliched and silly but that just added to its charm.

I had forgotten that Toyah was in it so that just made the night even better as I have wanted to see her live for years.

And here are a few pics of the show (thanks to www.vampiresrock.com):
Stringfellow (this was SO funny):

Sophie has a place to move to!

Sophie went to visit a property today that she had bid on via the council housing scheme and had been selected for. She and Shane said it is really nice and will give them a good place to start life together prior to Scarlett being born. Tomorrow she has to go into Chelmsford to sign all the paperwork and she should get the first set of keys then.

It's all quite exciting (and also sad at the same time) that my baby girl is moving out and getting her own place.

In other news Shane has a trial tomorrow for a job so fingers crossed that all goes well and he is employed!

Chieftains 11 Spitfires 0

Toni, Aaron, Sophie, Shane and I went to the Riverside this evening to watch the Chelmsford Chieftains playing ice hockey for the first time this season. Wanted to go as the Capitals didn't have a game and it was against Romford Spitfires so was hopeful of some "local derby" rivalry.

The game didn't disappoint. I was hoarse at the end of the game from having to do 11 goalie/sieve chants but it was good to do it again.

At the end of the first period one of the Romford players took exception to being booed as he came off the ice and was making threatening gestures to Big Pete. I told the guy to settle down and he then turned towards me before being escorted away by two of his team mates. Game didn't let up with the Chieftains scoring for fun and there were a couple of fights at the end too. Game was slightly marred by some idiots trying to crash the Spitfires bench and cause trouble but thankfully it didn't get too out of control.

Really glad we went and can't wait to do it again.

40K Three Way: Chaos v Orks v Eldar

We were at it again today.
Sam, Aaron and I did battle in the Warhammer 40K universe. We upped the ante this week and went with 1000 point armies (as opposed to the 500 point armies last week)

Sam - Chaos

Aaron - Orks

Me - Eldar

Eldar (Wave Serpant, Avatar and Dire Avengers) take on a Chaos Hellhammer tank!

That damn Chaos Hellhammer:

Sam thrashed us both but we did at least make it take a lot longer than he had hoped (and worked out some of his weaknesses for future battles)

Players Of The Game (Eldar Wave Serpant, Ork Kopters [at the back] and Chaos Terminators):

No van at all

Got a text from Ron saying he didn't even know if they were coming at all now! Oh well, sods law I suppose.

Clocks go back and grrrrrrr

Clocks went back last night, extra hour in bed YAY!
Only problem was that Zoe had arranged for a van to come and get ger stuff at 10:30 so I had to get up early. So now I go grrrr cos the van is late and I got up early for nothing LOL. Not her fault and I guess its good to be up and about but it would have been nice to have the extra sleep time :o)

Early morning joke!

A woman takes a lover home during the day while her husband is at work. Her 9 year old son comes home unexpectedly, sees them, and hides in the bedroom cupboard to watch.

Just after getting into bed the woman's husband also comes home. She puts her lover in the cupboard, not realising that the little boy is in there already.

After a little while the little boy says, 'Dark in here.'

The man, who obviously got a real fright not expecting to hear anything let alone from a little boy says, 'Yes, it is.'

Boy - 'I have a football.'

Man - 'That's nice.'

Boy - 'Want to buy it?'

Man - 'No, thanks.'

Boy - 'My dad's outside.'

Man - 'OK, how much?'

Boy - '£250'

In the next few weeks, it happens again that the boy and the lover are in the cupboard together.

Boy - 'Dark in here.'

Man - 'Yes, it is.'

Boy - 'I have football boots.'

The lover, remembering the last time, asks the boy, 'Ok how much this time ?'

Boy - '£350'

Man - 'Sold.'

A few days later, the boys' father says to the boy, 'Grab your boots and football, let's go outside and have a game of soccer.

The boy says, 'I can't, I sold my ball and boots.'

The father asks, 'How much did you sell them for?'

Boy - 'To a friend of mine for a £600.'

The father says, 'That's a terrible thing overcharging your friend like that. That's four times what they cost when they were new, I'm going to take you to church and make you confess your terrible sin.'

They go to the church and the father makes the little boy sit in the confession booth and he closes the door.

The boy says, 'Dark in here'.

The priest says, 'Don't start that sh* t again you little pr*ck, you're in my f...... cupboard now'!!"

Promotion and shopping in Southend

Toni and I went to Southend this afternoon and met up with Cat and Little Matt from Vendetta to go and hand out some flyers to promote Evolution as the club is struggling and unless they start bringing in more people it could face closure very soon.

Handed out a few flyers and then we all popped into The Alex and had a couple of drinks and a chinwag.

We then decided to go to a new clothing shop called To Die For. They are just expanding their goth range but Cat managed to get a nice skirt and Toni bought a gorgeous skirt with corsetted back and a fabulous spider web top. Unfortunately there was nothing for me :o(

Next stop was a kitsch boutique called That's Bizarre where Toni picked up a few novelty stocking fillers for Xmas. Check them out here: www.thatsbizarre.co.uk/

Managed to spot a SERIOUS fashion disaster walking down the Hight Street and just HAD to take a picture!

My boy has a job!

YAY for Sam. After two weeks of doing work experience for Pizza Hut they have offered him a part time job working at weekends as they were very impressed with him while he was there. He was hoping that he might have this opportunity but before he could ask them, the approached him, how good is that?

He starts his proper induction in a couple of weeks and then he'll be straight into working!

Well done Sam!

Staff writer for Glitzine

Guess who just signed up as a staff writer for Glitzine (an online fanzine dedicated to all things rock, glam and sleaze)?

Err yeah, that's right, little old me!
K.T.Glitz writing for Glitzine, how apt!

Of course it doesn't pay but it should be a good laugh and will probably blag me onto a few guest lists too!

I can't wait to start writing some CD and gig reviews.

Check it out here: www.glitzine.net

Bloke walks into a shop..........

Bloke walks into a shop he says, "I'm looking for a guitar with 6 strings."
The shop owner replies, "You're a drummer aren't you"
The man says, "How did you know?"

The shop owner replies, "This is a fish and chip shop mate"

Sorry Charlie! LMFAO!

The Doll strikes again

Well bits of Hollywood Doll anyway.

Vikki and Stu came round last night and we all (accompanied by Toni) went to the Town Crier for a short drink and chat session. It was fun and if it hadn't been for those perishing kids we could have stayed out for ages!

Nice to get out and about though even if it us just for a local drink.

Edinburgh Capitals DON'T strike again!

Wow,
Edinburgh Capitals took on the worst team in the Elite league tonight and still managed to clutch defeat from the jaws of victory. Basingstoke Bison walked away with a well deserved 4 - 5 overtime win. Neither team looked good but the Bison did look more dangerous. The fans are justifiably angry that this season is going so badly for Edinburgh. The only plus side is that the 1 point gained from pushing the game into overtime took the Capitals back into 8th place again.

I'm just glad I don't have to pay for the webcasts!

Just like old times, it's never easy being an Edinburgh Capitals fan.

Spoke to Zoe and saw Ron

Spoke to Zoe today. She wanted to get access to the stuff in my garage as she has got somewhere new to live. Talk about falling on your feet, four bedroom house in Latchingdon for only £650 a month, WOW! Hope she, Liam and Lai will be very happy.

Ron came round and took two of the sofas away for Zoe's new house. Good to see him and have a chat (and also to get some space back in the garage).

He showed me some pictures of Kai and the wee chap is adorable. Unfortunately Zoe doesn't want them online so you'll all have to wait until she says some can be posted before I publish any.

Superhero Movie

Watched Superhero Movie with Sam tonight. Well some of it as he fell asleep LOL.
Like all the "Insert Name Here" Movie films it did what it said on the tin but was really funny and had me laughing out loud.

A brainless comedy film but well worth watching!

Much to Sam's delight we all had a Warhammer 40K battle this afternoon.

Our armies were as follows:

Sam - Chaos
Aaron - Orks
Toni - Space Marines
Gemima - Necrons
Me - Eldar

Let battle commence:

Sam's Chaos army reigned supreme and walked away with the victory with Toni's Space Marines coming in second.

The plan was to do not very much today...

....and we did really well with that plan until Toni remembered that Gemima had an appointment to see an optician so we had to scoot off into Chelmsford (yes I know I really do not like going to Chelmsford every weekend LOL)

Gemima went and had her eyes tested and Sam, Aaron and I popped into game so that Sam could drop off a CV as he wanted a weekend job there. We then scooted off to Games Workshop to have a browse and pick up some paints.

Once Gemima was done we nipped into HMV before deciding not to cook once again and headed off to your usual Chelmsford eaterie, Pizza Hut.

Once we got home Toni and I nipped to Asda to get a few bits and I ended up buying the first three Indiana Jones films (that were on special offer). On our return we started watching Raiders Of The Lost Ark.

Friday night curry!

After a VERY slow day at work I scooted off home and pottered about for a bit. Decided that nobody should cook today so I sent Toni a text to that effect.

When she arrived with Aaron and Gemima, we all ordered a curry from Elachi. Very nice it was too.

Sam is loving his work experience

Sam started work experience this week at Pizza Hut in Chelmer Village Retail Park. Although he said it was hard work and his feet and legs ached at the end of the day he has really been enjoying it.

More randomness

Should have blogged these ages ago but I forgot I had them on my phone.
The name of the company on this lorry was amusing (in a childish and purile way LOL)

Blind lemon Sam....

....is a blues playing man.
So sang all about eve. Imagine my surprise when I saw Mr Lemon staring at me from one of the shelves in Asda, how random is this:

Update on Zoe

Spoke to Gloria this morning to see if there was any news on Zoe. She still hasn't had the baby and is going to hospital at 18:00 tomorrow to be induced, I'll keep you posted when I hear something.

Flat sale completed

YAY!
Had a quick chat with mum this morning. The sale of nanny's flat has completed and she handed the keys over today. She is so relieved that everything went through smoothly and it's one less thing for her to have to worry about.

Housework today

Spent some of the morning doing some house work (fun fun fun) while Toni popped into Chelmsford to do a few things. Kitchen floor hasn't look so clean in ages, now the trick will be keeping it like that!

No Vendetta tonight

We were supposed to be going to Vendetta tonight but Toni was still feeling pretty rough and I think I might be coming down with something again so we decided to give it a miss. Hate not going but can't enjoy things like that when not feeling well. Have to find something else to go along to and dress up now.

Hollywood Doll images

Had a chat with Vikki Doll tonight as it's been a while since we communicated. She sent me some great images that I want us to have made into band t-shirts. She'll have a white one and the rest of us in black:

Planning on recording some stuff tomorrow to keep things rolling along.
