We're off to see the Izzard...........

........the wonderful Izzard of Eddie

Sorry, that was bad I know but just had to be done!

Met Toni at North Greenwich after work tonight and headed into London as we were off to the Lyric Theatre on Shaftsbury Avenue to see Eddie Izzard. We went to one of our old haunts for dinner (Pizza Hut at Cambridge Circus) before heading off to the lyric to see the great man.

If you like Eddie Izzard then you would have loved this show. He certainly hasn't lost his wit and the show has us laughing from start to finish. I won't spoil it for those of you that might still be going to see him. There was a passing nod to squirrels hiding their nuts and make up in trees (old joke for those of you who are familiar with his material).

I will however share one nugget that makes me smile every time I think about it. Eddie was talking about Charles Darwin and his very famous book on evolution and said that the title we all know it by is now what was originally conceived, it used to be called: MONKEY, MONKEY, MONKEY, MONKEY, MONKEY, YOU!

The stage:

Us (and a random bloke having a chuckle!)

Us (without the random):

The man himself onstage:

Take a bow!
