After work tonight Toni and I shot off to Bexleyheath for an evening out.We started off with a lovely meal at Frankie And Benny's before hitting Cineworld for the lastest Marvel extravaganza, Guardians Of The Galaxy.
This film expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits-Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand-with the galaxy's fate in the balance.
So what is it like you ask? Bloody brilliant is my reply. Unlike other Marvel franchise films that are in existence this one really doesn't take itself too seriously. Sure the others had the odd bit of humour thrown in but this was a different beast altogether. There are loads of scene that just have the audience laughing loudly. The script and acting are top notch and the whole film unfolds really well. WWE wrestler Dave Batista puts in a stellar performance and really surprised us how good he was. There are some breathtaking special effects too. I don't want to give anything away so this is a MUST SEE film.
