Yes I know I am sad but I just had to watch the launch episode of Big Brother today!
Some potentially entertaining characters went in so it will be interesting to see how things develop this year and whether or not the show can recapture its spark.
One thing I have noticed is that now they choose far fewer "normal" people. They are either misfits or people that are aspiring to media careers or want fame and fortune which kind of dampens the whole "people watching" thing. The characters that get chosen now have the bitchy killer edge as they want to succeed which "can" make good TV if they all spark correctly but its not the same as watching Joe Public simmering away quietly and then going bang.
Only time will tell whether or not the format is dead.
