The HOLLYWOOD DOLL curse continues

A week ago tonight showed great promise. My band, HOLLYWOOD DOLL, were all set for a rehearsal and to try out new drummer Steve and also audition 3 singers.

At the beginning of this week things were still looking good. One singer, Danni. had gone quiet but we were still sure of having 2 to audition, Taylor and Marie. Things started going wrong last night when I got an email from Taylor who said that at the moment she had too much work on and so wouldn't be able to do anything for a month or so. The annoying thing is that we moved all the auditions and waited over a month as she was away in New York but wanted to give her a shot. Seems we needn't have bothered.

I managed to make contact with Danni this afternoon and although it was clear she wouldn't be coming tonight she did at least say that she was still interested so if things didn't work out there was still further options.

So, here's what went down..........

Sam and I arrived at Nightfly Studios and started setting up the rehearsal room. Matt and Becky then turned up followed closely by Steve. While we were setting up we got a text from Charlie saying that his last customer had managed to shut his (that is, Charlie's) hand in the shop door so he wouldn't be able to make it. Undeterred, Matt, Steve and I set about warming up and running through a couple of covers plus some original material that Matt and I had written which went really well and gave me an indication that the future could be bright. I sent a text to Marie saying that she could come early if she wanted to. I got no reply, she didn't turn up. Checked my emails but there had been no attempt at contact.

Out of a grand total of 3 prospects we got to audition absolutley nobody for the role of singer! So the position remains open. We will contact Marie in the hope that something urgent happened and that she would like to come down another time. I will also talk to Dannii to try and schedule her for a session. Matt also knows of another singer that has spoken to him in the past so hopefully we might still have at least 3 possibilities.

Ho hum.......... will we ever find a singer? Who knows but fingers crossed. On the plus side we do at least have a drummer who is interested in playing with us and no doubt will commit once we have a singer in the bag. Let's hope that moment comes soon.

HOLLYWOOD DOLL are coming, we have just been slightly delayed!
