Every now and then I get a nice surpise. Tonight was one of those nights.
I decided to watch Punisher: War Zone despite it getting some pretty dire reviews and I was pleasantly surprised. If anything things this was the first Punisher film that actually seemed to really portray Frank Castle as I remember him from The Punisher comics. The first Punisher film was a Dolph Lundgren monstrosity that was so bad that it was funny but was in a no way really anything like The Punisher. The 2004 remake was a lot better and showed great potential and at least formally set out the background for how Frank Castle became The Punisher.
Punisher: War Zone is a film for Frank Castle/The Punisher fans and certainly not one for the critics. If you like The Punisher comics then this one is definitely worth a watch!
