Hollywood Doll @ The Gaff

Final gig of the year for HOLLYWOOD DOLL and this time we were going out in style with a headline slot at The Gaff in London.

WE COME FIRST
1-2-3-4! Punk rock a la Ramones was what We Come First treated us to. No ifs, no buts, just good honest 1-2-3-4 short songs! They were really good and I look forward to seeing them again at some point. Any band that writes a song about the Ramones and then does a Ramones mash up is OK by me! A fantastic band to start the night with!

JAY SERRAO AND THE JUICE
These guys delivered a reasonable set of classic British blues based rock. It was reasonable as it's not really my thing but they seemed pretty competent. As is the case with this style of band it did get overlong at times and throwing in a copy of Black Dog was NEVER going to impress me! They went down well though.

SILICONE BULLET
Another night, another gig with Silicone Bullet. I think this was number four tonight! It was another line up change for them tonight. The Kitty Lipps singer and guitarist are now performing drum and bass duties for Silicone Bullet (Marie suggested they were now Silicone Lipps!). The addition of the new bass player has improved things for them sound wise and the performance was what we've come to expect from these guys.

HOLLYWOOD DOLL
We were all fired up for this gig tonight and played a great set. The only downside of the night was Graham's amp packing up at some point during the proceedings (six songs in) leaving him to dance around and perform backing vocals as we finished off the set. It was a great night and a great gig to end what has been a successful year for Hollywood Doll.

Our friends Johnny and Jacqui from Devilish Presley even popped into see us which was a nice gesture and we then hung around and chatted with them for ages afterwards.
