NXEA finally keels over

Despite it's best efforts the snow had failed to halt Network Express East Anglia (NXEA) which was a first as they are usually the first rail network to suffer. Against the odds NXEA had continued to run a good service all week.

I managed to get in to work (albeit a little later than planned) and although it was snowing quite hard the train made it just fine. Toni had warned me that the forecast was getting worse. Bearing this in mind I kept a close eye on NXEA trains throughout the day.

Sure enough, the green status changed to yellow and then red. It was at this point that Mike Babb and I decided to bail out a little early to make sure that we could actually get home again as lots of cancellations were starting to appear.

When we got to Liverpool Street there were lots of cancellations and delays so we were glad we had left when we did. Made it safely to Wickford and there was even a SWF train waiting so I got to sit in the warm for 30 minutes before it left rather than being stuck out in the cold snow.
