Fantastic day and Rangers beat Hurricanes

Today was one of those really good days. Work was incredibly positive with lots of good things happening and everything slowly coming together as people function better as a team and the opportunity to change things starts to take effect. Had a really good chat with my ex-boss too which left me feeling really fired up and keen to thrive.

I have also been presented with an amazing opportunity to change my role within the company and take my career to a whole new level. I have to get through the selection process but I am determined to give it my all as I believe I am a really good fit for the role. Watch this space!

Kebabs and a TV catch up (South Park and American Horror Story) filled the first part of the evening before it was ice hockey time again.

New York Rangers were at home to Carolina Hurricanes. Rangers had lost their last two games 3 - 6 so I was hopeful that they could start to turn things around. First period ended 0 - 0 and despite the Rangers starting well they were a bit flat in the second half and it was a bit boring to watch. Shots on goal: NYR 8, CAR 13.

Second period started well and the Rangers started to look more effective on the power play. Unfortunately the Hurricanes netminder was on top form and denied all their chances. Despite their best efforts the Rangers couldn't hold things together and the Hurricanes took a 0 - 1 lead. Second period ended with the Hurricanes leading 0 - 1. Shots on goal: NYR 12 (20), CAR 5 (18).

Third period saw a more fired up Rangers come out battling to get the equalizer. There were some fantastic chanced but that pesky Hurricanes netminder just kept getting in the way! Rangers made it 1 - 1 at 09:40 courtesy of Derick Brassard. Third period ended tied 1 - 1 so it was into 4 on 4 overtime! Shots on goal: NYR 11 (31), CAR 10 (28).

Overtime started poorly with Hurricanes having the run of the play with Rangers struggling to build anything. The score was 1 - 1 at the end of overtime and so it time for a shoot out! AAARGGGHH. Shots on goal were NYR 3 (34), CAR 2 (30).

Penalties:
NYR Zuccarello misses
CAR Semin misses
NYR Stempniak misses
CAR Terry misses
NYR Nash scores
CAR Murphy misses

Rangers win 2 - 1 after a penalty shoot out!
