Ziyafet, Rangers beat the Flyers (again), Papa John's & Maleficent

We had a lovely lazy start to the day before Toni and I took Pam to Ziyafet in Eltham to meet Jade for lunch. We had a lovely meal before we took Jade home (via Jamie's to collect some parcels).

New York Rangers v Philadelphia Flyers round two, this time at Madison Square Garden. Rangers were short a few players: Kreider (death in the family), Boyle (flu-like symptoms), Glass (mumps). Will be interesting to see if they can shuffle the lines to deal with this. Derrick Brassard gave the Rangers a 1 - 0 lead on the power play at 02:50. Rangers dominated the play despite being down a number of key players. Flyers turned the tide though and made it 1 - 1 at 13:46. First period ended 1 - 1. Shots on goal were NYR 15 and PHI 7.

The Flyers upped their gamer in the second and took a 1 - 2 lead at 08:45 on the power play. Fast scored his first NHL goal and even things up to 2 - 2 at 11:38.Lots of pressure from the Rangers but the Flyers defended well with some impressive saves. Second period ended 2 - 2. Shots on goal were NYR 14 (29) and PHI 4(11).

Flyers started strongly in the third but in a run against the play the Rangers took a 3 - 2 lead. Derrick Brassard got his second at 03:07. After that it was all Flyers once again with the odd counter from the Rangers. J.T. Miller then goes for a wrap around after a turn over and takes the Rangers lead to 4 - 2 at 09:54. Lee Stempniak put the game out of sight with 24 seconds left with an empty netter and Rangers lead 5 - 2. The game ended with the Rangers winning 5 - 2 and a sweep of the Flyers. Shots on goal were NYR 6 (35) and PHI 12 (23).

I think that maybe this Rangers team could be finally coming together! Well, fingers crossed anyway.

Aaron treated us all to Papa John's for dinner (as he had just received his first wages) and we watched Maleficent..
