Blessed Ostara

Blessed Ostara to all my friends and family. Now is the time of creativity, new growth and fertility :)

Good day, visit from Helen & Keith and tree planting

Today was a much better day. Various "meh" feelings were eliminated and then we got up and had breakfast. We then did a bit of a blitz on the living room to make it a bit more presentable. There wasn't that much to be done but it make a really big difference to the feel of the room. It has a better vibe now.

In the afternoon we had Helen and Keith come over with Finn and Kinsey for a visit. It was great to have them here, lots of fun chat and a delicious dinner. It's always lovely to have them over and spend time with them :)

In the evening I looked after Pam while Toni went to meet Giselle for a drumming and tree planting ceremony with Helen & Keith and the clan. They all had a great time!

Mixed day and crashing out

It was another whirlwind day of ups and downs today which I was less than impressed with. Just a little consistency would be nice but we'll get there in the end LOL. Everything finished OK though with a good meeting with the boss and other Scrum Masters before it was time to leave for a much needed weekend.

Got home and it was time for some more crashing out.

Early morning cooking and a positive day at work

So being wide awake Toni and I watched the New York Rangers beat the Anaheim Ducks in a game which started at 02:00. Toni hadn't eaten and was starving by the time we got to 04:30 so I popped into the kitchen and rustled up some gluten free vegetarian soy sauce ramen. I have to say it was pretty good and Toni really appreciated it :) I had started to flag by 05:30 so we went to bed so I could grab a quick hour of sleep before getting up again to go to work.

....and so an hour later it was time to get up and head to work. Surprisingly I made it through the day relatively unscathed thanks, in part, to a healthy dose of caffeine. Lots of meetings today but they all went well and I am starting to some positive things coming along.

Crashing out and up all night

Today started like any other one with me getting up and going to work. I'll spare the details of the working day suffice to say that I went from leaving in a good mood last night to being thoroughly hacked off within five minutes of arriving today. Things didn't really improve so it was a sigh of relief that I left for the day.

When Sam and I got in Toni was crashed out on the sofa. She must have been knackered as she didn't really come round despite us trying to engage in conversation. We ordered food and started watch Better Call Saul and Toni decided we were being to noisy so got up and went and crashed out again in a chair in Pam's room.

Sam and I watched a film and then he went off to game and I crashed out. We both woke up after 23:30 and were wide awake. We ended up being up pretty much all night.

Appraisal day

I had my appraisal today. Can't complain. Overall it was very good and the things I need to improve on are things that I had already identified myself anyway. It was a nice relaxed affair with lots of things to discuss but nothing bad at all.

Back to work and Vinyl

There's nothing worse than going back to work after a fun exciting weekend. Today was no exception although I did at least have Crow Dancers songs spinning round in my head all day which made everything much better.

In the evening Toni and I caught up on the last two episodes of Vinyl. We are bother really enjoying this series about the music industry and record companies. The series was a bit slow to start but has now become essential viewing. Definitely one to check out with a great soundtrack. Executive producers are Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger so it has a good pedigree.

..and home again

Feeling slightly sluggish after yesterday's shenanigans I had to make the journey back home. I've had a wonderfully productive weekend but I did miss Toni and my cuddles at night. I was a little but tired but thankfully an early night was forthcoming which was a relief :)

Homes For The Elite - Havitol

So my good friends from Devilish Presley called it a day and the resurfaced with a new project called Homes For The Elite. Here is their first video for the song Havitol produced by the talented Buttz, enjoy!

Crow Dancers assemble

It was an early start today with Taloch and I running through some songs and me getting a bit of bass recorded. Slowly the rest of the band arrived and we went into rehearsal mode. It was a marathon session but the songs are sounding amazing. The live show will be something else, so much power and energy waiting to be unleashed.

It's hard to express just how excited I am about what we are creating here. So many catchy things that will stick in your head for days!

After the rehearsing we then donned all our gear and headed out for a photo shoot. Here is the first publicly released image:

After the photos Kayleigh, Chris and I then had to do some work for our upcoming promo video which was fairly stressful but I am sure the results will be brilliant.

It was then time to relax with Kayleigh, Locana, Chris, Taloch and I heading out to The Belvedere for a wee drink. OK, it was a lot of drink and great fun!

Off to Weymouth on Crow Dancers business

After work I did a mammoth train journey down to Weymouth on Crow Dancers business. Got picked up by Taloch and Kayleigh and then had a catch up, some food and drink. Kayleigh and I were then subjected to the truly awful Russell Crowe film Noah. There was no redeeming part of that piece of nonsense. They even managed to completely trash and ruin any perception people might have of the Nephilim. Avoid this film at all costs, I am doing you a favour here!

Preparing for a weekend away

It was a flat day today. I have been preparing for a weekend away to do some Crow Dancers work and due to the Pam situation Toni is not able to come with me. This will be the first time in years that we have had nights apart. Not something I am looking forward to but it has to be done. Guitar and equipment packed? Check! Change of clothes and Crow Dancers gear packed? Check! We are good to go!

Movie trailers

Well it's been a while since my last bit of excitement over movie trailers so I thought I'd post some more. I'll kick things off with Captain America: Civil War which is due out on May 6th. The first trailer had me interested although I am a bit of a guaranteed viewer anyway but the latest trailer just got me really excited. You have to watch all the way to the very end though to see why!

Not everyone's cup of tea but I love me a bit of Spider-man!!!

Disney's Alice Through The Looking Glass is one that has crept up on me but could be quite good. Alice in Wonderland was a bit hit and miss but Alice Through The Looking Glass does reunite the all star cast of Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Mia Wasikowska and Helena Bonham Carter along with the voices of Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Michael Sheen and Timothy Spall so hopefully the continuity will give us a good film.

Last but not least.... who you gonna call? Ghostbusters of course! This trailer and the concept of this reboot have drawn a lot of criticism but I'm quite looking forward to it.

Darth Maul fan film

I'd like to share this awesome fan made Darth Maul film. It's not very long but very well made, I was most impressed.

More alternative takes on Star Wars music

I unearthed more Star Wars musical medleys today and had to share.

The Force Awakens Blu-ray trailer, lie in and some Pirates

Here we go again, Star Wars trailer time. This time it's the trailer for the digital and Blu-ray/DVD release of The Force Awakens. Deleted scenes and documentaries are part of the bonus material. The trailer shows a deleted scene. Have to say that excitement levels are rising once again and it's released at the beginning of April!

We actually managed to have a lie in which is really unusual these days but Pam had a good long sleep first thing which was most welcome. Once we had sorted out Pam I went and got us all breakfast from Richard's and Toni and I did TV catch up on Grimm and Legends Of Tomorrow.

We finished the day off with some Pirates Of The Caribbean movies and some ice hockey.

Star Wars: Rogue One snippet

So the first cool bit of news about Star Wars: Rogue One has come out of a Disney shareholders meeting where they showed some footage in what's called a sizzle reel rather than a trailer. Sadly that footage has not been made public but some of the comments from those that saw it make for an interesting insight in to some of the things that we can expect.

Here's what one of the lucky viewers (Matthew Hansen) had to say:

Most of it was very quick. A shot of the black stormtrooper, possibly called Death Troopers as previously reported, another pic of that same style of helmet and armor but all chrome, reminiscent of Captain Phasma from The Force Awakens, an image showed two AT-ATs that had a slightly different look with the door panel on the side of the body painted a lighter beige color. And a couple cast photos were shown, one of Felicity [Jones] & Diego Luna and another of Donnie Yen. The clip featured Felicity’s character on what looked like the inside of a ship or shuttle with her arm up holding on and the hatch/ramp open behind her. I wish I could remember what she said as part of the sizzle but it went by too fast. The new stormtroopers looked great."

Lots of people I know aren't that fussed about Rogue One and are happy to wait for Episode VIII but not me, I am really looking forward to it. Of course the rumour that Vader might be making an appearance does add to it's appeal.

Grrrr day and happy 30th Master Of Puppets

It was a long hard slog at work today with gruelling meetings throughout peppered with frustration. Sometimes I really wonder what goes on in the heads of people. It was like the room had been filled with some psychogenic gas and people were tripping away in a complete fantasy land! Sometimes I ask why I still put myself through this sort of thing LOL. Definitely a day that I was glad to have end that's for sure.

In other news today marked the 30th anniversary of the release of Metallica's awesome Master Of Puppets album. This one was a real game changer and a life changer for me too. They certainly don't make them like this anymore. I remember picking it up for £4.99 from Shades Records. Happy days!

Moving goal posts

It was an "AAAARRGGGHHHH" day at work today. There's nothing worse than being given a task to do and having the goal posts moved every five minutes so you actually don't know which way is up anymore. Things started to turn out all right in the end but it was hard work getting there!

It was such a relief to be able to leave early tonight although I did end up a couple of hours work in the evening which might have been a mistake. If I have to look at another Dell service tag number, or their website, again it will be too soon!
