Chieftains 3 Lightning 4

Aaaarrrgghhhhh!
How frustrating a game was that!
Chieftains played well in the first period and were unlucky for it to have ended 0 - 1. The second period was painful with the Chieftains really not looking like they had any sort of game plan at all and it was agonizing to concede a goal with one second left and have to head into the third with a 0 - 2 deficit.

Third period wasn't really much better to start with and when the Lightning made it 0 - 3 it really did seem like game over. Then the Chieftains seemed to wake up and managed to get the score to 2 - 3. Bounced just didn't seem to want to go our way and then Lightning made it 2 - 4 before the Chieftains grabbed another and went to 3 - 4 with just over a minute left. Unfortunately they couldn't get the equaliser.

If only they could play the whole game with the passion that they put into the first period and last ten minutes of the third, then we might have seen a whole different scoreline. Oh well onwards and onwards and a local derby next Sunday against Romford Raiders.

In other hockey news the Edinburgh Capitals turned things around to get a great 4 - 1 win over Newcastle Vipers and keep their play off hopes on life support.
