Toni, Sam and I were up at 8 this morning ready to make our way to SPiT LiKE THiS HQ to grab the tour bus to Wacken. The term stupidly excited doesn't really do it justice as to how we were feeling.
We ended up at SLT HQ an hour early so ended up going for a 20 minute walk with Vikki Spit and her dog Bolly. Once we had returned and after various comings and goings it was time to load up Darth Banner and set off.
There will be loads of photos from this trip but I won't be able to post them until I get back.
A smooth trip to Dover resulted with us getting pulled over at the security checkpoint for the once over and metal detection! Can't think why they would single out a van with a number plate of S666 ROK that was full of hairy rock types!
The sailing to Calais was smooth. We had a Spinal Tap moment on the boat trying to find the open deck but we dis manage it in the end and grabbed another photo opportunity.
The next leg of the trip was a bit of a slog. France - Belgium - Holland - Germany. Those of you that follow me on Twitter and Facebook will already have chuckled at my Sat Nav fail where I posted that we were in Holland when actually we were still in Belgium!
Poor old Sam got traumatised as Giles had decided that Sam was going to be his bitch once we arrived and a lot of time was spent in the bus with everyone winding him up about how he was going to lose his bitty cherry!
We arrived at the Tryp Hotel in Dortmund very late and boy did the bed feel good!
The only blot was some drunken idiots making noise in the hotel corridor but they were soon shut up web the manager threatened to evict them!
