Mead, Jäger and Jack Daniels is NOT a good combination. Toni and I woke up a little worse for wear this morning.
Music started blaring at 08:30 this morning as soundchecking began on the main stage.
It was then that the bad news was presented to us that we would have to move our tents from where we were told we could put them and where we had spent the night. Whilst we acknowledged that the place where we had set up in the dark was indeed a car park we were less than impressed that
a) there were already tents there that weren't being asked to move
b) it was one of the top guys from the Wacken organisation that had told us where to pitch up
We waited a couple of hours so that Vikki and Z could get in touch with Ralph their manager. We started collapsing the tents and were told that we would need to move to the VIP area. Vikki, Z and Ralph went on a reccy and it turned that VIP was full up.
We yen got agreement that we could pitch up elsewhere On the plot we were at so we set about moving the tents an pitching them up again. Two tents in Ralph then announced that we were now not allowed to pitch there after all and so would have to completely break down the tents again and move.
We did eventually get given a place to pitch up and so, once again, we set about erecting our little camp.
When we were done we went in search of food, drink and watched some of Skyline's set (they were joined for a couple of numbers by Doro and Udo which was great for me as they are two of my heroes)
We then planned to watch some of Alice Cooper's set before heading off to see SPiT LiKE THiS. Sadly there were delays and so we missed the start although we did hear a few numbers as we trekked to the venue to watch the SPiT LiKE THiS show.
That was a weird experience as there was a wrestling ring with security barriers in first of the stage and as we were miles away from the front. It wad a good show although the sound was pretty ropey but a good few people came in to see them.
The rest of the day was spent eating, sampling various alcoholic beverages and listening to Motley Crüe and Iron Maiden. We then headed back to our tent for more drinking.
