Crazy work, Unicorn, Orpheum rehearsal and Rangers lose again

Crazy day at work today as we continue to drown in a sea of madness, "urgent" issues and chasing our own tails. We need to take some time out and come up for air before it all goes to pot!

It was a relief to finally escape and then head off to Kentish Town for a nice drink at The Unicorn with Orpheum. The only downside of Friday nights there is that they have bands on who often sound check while we drink. Tonight we were "treated" to the strains of an out of tune doom metal band. Thankfully they didn't need to soundcheck for long.

Before we left the first act hit the stage who appeared to be one man with a sequencer, a guitar and drums who did some clever stuff with loops and rhythms although it was VERY repetitive. We beat a hasty retreat to Zed One Studios when a guy came into the pub who looked like an ex-Orpheum bass player (which was quite amusing for me)

Orpheum rehearsal went very well, all is coming together very nicely and I seem to be a good fit with the personalities in the band. Despite there being some pressure on me to get up to speed with everything it doesn't actually feel like there is any which is good for me!

The only downside of today was the New York Ranger crashing spectacularly to the Washington Capitals and so the now trail 2 - 0 in the series. They had better turn things around on Sunday!
