Caffeine day, Rangers blank the Oilers and Google Maps Pokemon Lab

Having had a fantastic weekend it was a shame to get back to the real world again today. Getting up was a bit of a struggle and I felt really sluggish as I was waiting at the bus stop with Sam. I felt hungover even though I wasn't. A caffeine fuelled day was in order and thankfully it was a relatively easy one. Sam was back on the early shift so it was nice to be able to leave at five and be home by six again rather than nearer seven.

Got in and did a catch up on the New York Rangers v Edmonton Oilers game from last night as we were too tired to even attempt to watch it. What a game! First period ended 1 - 0 to the Rangers after a Zuccarello tip-on. The Rangers then went on a major offensive after that. A power play goal from Brassard made it 2 - 0. Nash then made it 3 - 0 five minutes later. Nash then netted a short handed goal less than five minutes after that taking the Rangers to a 4 - 0 lead at the end of the second period. Zuccarello made it 5 - 0 with another short handed goal at the start of the third. The Rangers won the game 5 - 0 and Talbot picked up his third shutout of the season. A much needed two points in the bag which kept the Rangers in second place.

The Google Maps app was blessed with a Pokemon Labs add on today. There was an option to go in search of Pokemon on the Google Maps landscape.

This is the Pokemon Centre where you start out:

As you catch Pokemon they get placed in Pokeballs on the map:

I didn't go mad but I did manage to catch some of my favourite Pokemon: Pichu, Pikachu, Raichu and Meowth:

Well played to those that made it possible for this to happen as an April Fool's day treat! Remember that this was launched in another time zone where it was already April 1st.
