Bank holiday, plucking and make up, Rock Band, steak, nerds and New York Rangers

It was a Bank Holiday today! So nice not to have to get up early go into work! Sadly it's business as usual tomorrow!

Breakfast was followed by a quick TV catch up of Game Of Thrones, The Borgias and Once Upon A Time. All three series are running strong and frustrating us with the need to wait for the next week!

Toni and I decided to have a make up session this afternoon. I set about plucking my eyebrows as they were a little unkempt. Managed to do it all on my own though with just the odd pointer from Toni on bits that I had missed. Make up came next which all went well. Again there was valuable guidance from Toni but I did do it all myself. Toni suggested that I should wear it more often which I intend to do!

It doesn't happen very often but the living room was turned into a gaming room today as we cracked out the Rock Band gear and Sam, Aaron, Gemima and I tried to kick out the jams. We were a little rusty though si it did take us a while to get back into the swing of things so it was hilarious listening to us murder some classics!

Steak dinner was served up with an episode of King Of The Nerds. It's a very silly show that we all enjoy very much. In fact, it's one of the few shows that EVERYBODY in the house wants to watch so we all spend a little time together, which is a bit of a novelty these days!

The day finished off with Game 3 of the New York Rangers v Washington Capitals Play Off series. This one started out with the Rangers trailing 2 - 0 so it was time for a BIG win! Going down 1 - 0 within five minutes didn't exactly fill me with confidence! Two lame power plays and then "blam", it was 1 - 1 and suddenly we had a game of hockey on our hands! 1 - 1 at the end of the first period gave me some cheer and hope that there was still a chance. A much better second period saw the Rangers take a 2 - 1 lead only for the Capitals to make it 2 - 2 with less than three minutes left so we headed into the third period with a tied game! Rangers took an early 3 - 2 lead only for the Capitals to make it 3 - 3 with 12 minutes left. A hard push took the Rangers to 4 - 3 with 6.5 minutes left. The last two minutes were played 6 on 4 as Capitals had a power at an pulled the goalie but the Rangers held fast for a 4 - 3 win. The series is now 2 - 1 to the Capitals and there is everything to play for!
