Venice Day 4

Struggled to get up this morning for the first time since being here, must have been the late night! After breakfast we had a lovely morning on the top deck just chatting and reading (and sleeping too). There was a nice breeze so the heat didn't get too uncomfortable.

After lunch we decided to explore one of the other islands, Murano. Sadly Toni stayed behind as she wasn't feeling well.

We took the vaporetto from Giardini to Murano which was a wonderful little excursion in itself. Murano is famous for it's glass factories so we took the opportunity to visit one and get a demonstration of glass-blowing. It was all very impressive although the heat was unbearable with the furnaces burning at a cosy 200 degrees. It was a great little.

We returned to the ship by taking a quick vaparetto from Murano to Piazza le Roma and then we got the #1 vaparetto from there back down the Grand Union Canal back to Giardini and the Michelangelo. Thankfully on our return Toni was rested and feeling much better. We hit the top deck for drinks, chilling and reading prior to dinner.

After dinner the crew treated us to a little cabaret. At times it was a little like watching a school play with some of the less confident members looking a little awkward but it was all a great bit of fun and a laugh. I even got dragged up by Jessica (along win another lady) to perform a dance routine.

This was followed by some cheesy disco which meant I just HAD to dance and Toni did too (much to her disgust LOL!)
Cracking night was had by all and Sam spent a lot of time dancing with Audrey (one of the crew members)
