Venice Day 5

At 06:00 we set sail for Chioggia for a change of scenery.

Breakfast was followed by top deck chilling, reading and sleeping to the strains of the crew restocking the boat.

There was a lovely breeze today which took the edge off of the slowly increasing heat. It was all very tranquil taking in the fresh air.

We had a quick briefing on the remaining schedule up until departure tomorrow. I was delighted to hear that our cases will have pink ribbons on them, YAY!

Lunch, as usual, was out of this world.

We sailed at 13:40 from Chioggia back to Venice and we then had a final chance to go and do some exploring.

Sam decided to stay behind so Toni, mum and I took another vaparetto route from San Basilio round to Rialto for some last minute shopping and to enjoy some ice cream. Some gorgeous masks and a combination of pistachio, coffee, chocolate and forest fruit ice cream later and we were headed back on the vaparetto one final time.

Sam was given a note fin Audrey with all here contact details on which was lovely. I see the start of a good friendship here.

We had a champagne toast in the lounge with the captain, bursar and head chef and then went off to enjoy one of the most amazing meals I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Talk about saving the best until last!

Sam went off to socialise whilst Toni, mum and I packed and sorted out cruise questionnaires and various bits and pieces.

We were treated to a spectacular rain shower and thunderstorm I'm the final hour of the day which rounded things off beautifully!

Before heading to our cabin we mingled for a bit before snapping a photo of Sam and Audrey and then leaving them to chat.

It's been a totally amazing week and I'd just like to say a BIG thank you to mum for making it possible!
