WTF? Nirvana inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

What the f*** Apparently Nirvana are on the list of 2014 inductees into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. I think the world has gone insane. Nirvana? Really? This just does not sit right with me! On the one hand the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is the complete antithesis of what Nirvana were about so I really can't see they would want to be there. On the other hand they really weren't that great a band! A few good songs for sure but this band have never been the stuff of legends.

Other inductees for 2014 are Kiss, Peter Gabriel and Cat Stephens among others. Kiss I get being there, 20 studio albums, selling out stadiums for years. I'm just surprised they weren't in there sooner. Peter Gabriel also deserves his place with 9 studio albums plus an additional 6 with Genesis. Cat Stephens managed 11 studio albums. All of these artists have been around for years and have really earned their place.

Nirvana have 3 studio albums to their name of which only 2 really count for their popularity as most of their fans had no idea who they were when Bleach came out and only got on board after Nevermind was released (ie when they transitioned from grunge rock to pop). They were active for an outstanding 7 years but only really got noticed for 3 of those! The biggest travesty is that Kurt Kobain became a martyr when he killed himself and the band were elevated to a place way above where the should have been. I wish he had lived as they would have just faded away..........

Apparently Dave Grohl was speechless..... I wonder if they'll have all the other 5 drummers up for the award that sat on the stool before Grohl arrived on the scene LMFAO? OK that was a bit silly but would it be unreasonable to think that they might just do the decent thing and give some credit to Chad Channing who recorded on the first single Love Buzz and on the Bleach album (along with Dale Crover who also had some of his work on Bleach). Then again most people think that Dave Grohl was the only drummer Nirvana ever had.

Given how Nirvana first started on the grunge scene and added to Mr Kobain's hatred of the spotlight and inability to handle fame I wonder how he would feel about all of this?

Now that I've got that off of my chest does anybody fancy a quick debate about Led Zeppelin...........
