Fun day, Orange Is The New Black and Rangers keep Stanley Cup dreams alive

Today was a fun day. Not sure why but everything seemed OK. Maybe it was just because I actually had a chance to test something that had a little substance rather than the odd quick fix. The only downside was the number of meeting requests that came in! There seem to be more and more the further we go. Whatever happened to actually doing some work? It's starting to feel a bit like this LOL

Surprise of the day was Star Wars lightsaber ice lollies. I went Sith:

After dinner we started watching Orange Is The New Black. Just like with Breaking Bad we were late to this party but we are glad we got there. This is the story of Piper Chapman, a woman in her thirties who is sentenced to fifteen months in prison after being convicted of a decade-old crime of transporting money for her drug-dealing girlfriend. It is a well written show and seems to be building up quite well (three episodes in).

It was crunch time for the New York Rangers tonight. Trailing 0 - 3 to the L.A. Kings in the Stanley Cup Finals they only have one option now, WIN FOUR STRAIGHT GAMES IN A ROW. Anything less and they were done.

Rangers started well and clearly weren't prepared to bow out gracefully. At 05:23 the Rangers went on the power play. The power play expired with no goals. At 07:25 Benoit Pouliot beats Quick and the Rangers were leading 1 - 0! Rangers were much more physical in this game hip checking Kings players all over the shop, something we've not seen much of in these finals. Good to see them getting soem physical stuff going. Kings go on the power play and almost get one but the puck didn't quite cross the line despite a mad scramble in front of the net. Rangers killed that penalty off! Nice to see the refs missing a too many men call that would have been in favour of the Rangers! There was a last minute rush in the final seconds from the Rangers. First period ended with the Rangers leading 1 - 0. Shots on goal were 7 - 11 in favour of the Kings.

Second period began with the Kings desperate to even things up. It was a scary moment as the Kings shot one off of the cross bar which was a relief. Rangers went on the power play which wasn't very effective. A quick skirmish and then the Rangers were scrambling in front of Quick but couldn't get the puck passed him. A hard push on the Kings net and Martin St. Louis made it 2 - 0 to the Rangers at 06:27. Time to NOT defend a two goal lead and keep pushing hard for more! Another piss poor power play from the Rangers then resulted in a bad turnover and a Kings break away resulting in the score becoming 2 - 1. Shouldn't have happened! Some hard pressure from the Kings resulted in Lundqvist having to make some quick saves. Second period ended 2 - 1 to the Rangers. Shots on goal were 11 - 15 in favour of the Kings (18 - 26 shots overall in favour of the Kings).

Crunch time. One period left. Rangers started it leading 2 - 1. Start of the period was end to end with the Kings looking more dangerous. Kings kept the pressure up but Lundqvist did what he does best. Five minutes in and the Rangers hadn't had a shot on goal, not what was required considering the Kings had five. A dominant few minutes from the Kings needed some more good work from Lundqvist. Rangers struggled to mount any form of effective attack. Needed to stop defending and head back into the Kings zone with some bite. Another big save from Lundqvist! Ten minutes gone and Rangers had no shots on goal which was worrying. Slowly the Rangers managed to start getting some offense going. Five minutes left and it was still 2 - 1. Kings seem to have been playing a naughty game in not having their sticks down on the ice for face offs which they are supposed to do as they were the visiting team. As per usual inept refs do nothing about it. Two minutes left and the Kings turn up the pressure but it's still 2 - 1. AAARRGGGHHHH! 01:11 left and the Kings pull Quick for the extra skater. It all got a bit hectic in front of the Rangers net. Twitchy bum time with 24 seconds left. YEESSSSSS!!!! Final score was 2 - 1 Rangers. Shots on goal were 1 - 15 in favour of the Kings (19 - 41 to the Kings overall).

The Rangers manage to avoid being swept and frustrate the Kings and now head back to L.A. trailing the series 3 - 1 but their hopes very much alive. Let's not forget that the Rangers came back from 3 - 1 down against the Penguins!!!! #WeBelieve #BecauseItsTheCup
