According to reports The Force Awakens has already started breaking UK records for pre-bookings with the Vue chain which can only be a good thing. Vue have reported that the highest pre-booking before was back in 2010 with Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1 with 284,850 pre-booked tickets. So far The Force Awakens has reached in excess of 290,000 as of yesterday. Vue have also announced that they will open an additional 200 screens on the opening day and a further 100 on the opening weekend, that's about 75,000 more people. I've not seen any reports on other chains pre-bookings as yet, but I would expect them to be doing well too. I'm wondering if we are about to see some new box office records being set?
This is a bit late but apparently the first queue for The Force Awakens began on Saturday 5th December outside Hollywood's Chinese Theater. This phenomena started way back in 1977 and has continued for every Star Wars film since. Here's a shot from way back when.
It's fantastic that this still happens. The Line Awakens is happening now!
Here's another TV spot called I Can Handle Myself
..and Eipc Space Opera Movie
