Early start, Dolmen Grove Essex Moot and a hockey fest

Got up at 10:30 today which was early when compared to the last couple of days. Crazy times LOL. Toni had a rough night so I didn't disturb her straight away. Breakfast/brunch was leftovers from our trip to Rishta last night. Unorthodox but very nice!

Toni and I then hit the Essex trail to attend our Dolmen Grove Essex Moot. First stop was Witham to pick up Mandy and then it was back to Grays to attend the moot. We had a good time as is to be expected. No talks this time but lots of planning for Beltane camp and also the DG Essex Beltane Ritual. The rest of our time was just spent being social and looking at the wares for sale. I picked up this gorgeous piece:

We also picked up a really gorgeous wall unit. Photos of that will be posted tomorrow! Time ran away and soon it was time to drop Mandy off and then head back home again.

Got back in time to watch the third period of the New York Rangers v Philadelphia Flyers game. Rangers were down 2 - 3 after coughing up a 2 - 0 lead and just couldn't pull things together. A really strange attempt at pulling Lundqvist resulted in the Rangers being called for too many men and that was it. A really impressive battle from Simmonds from end of the ice to the other gave the Flyers a 2 - 4 win. Disappointing but at least the series is tied 1 - 1.

Chinese food accompanied Boston Bruins v Detroit Dead Things Red Wings. With Bruins already down 1 - 0 in the series this was one they needed to win. They got off to a good start and were leading 2 - 0 at the end of the first. Detroit pulled on back at 13:26 in the second but thankfully the Bruins got an insurance goal at 18:16 and ended the second period 3 - 1 ahead. A great power play goal early in the third gave the Bruins a very comfortable 4 - 1 win. This series is also now tied 1 - 1.

Final game of the night was Lightning v Montreal Canadiens. With the Canadiens leading the series 2 - 0 we were flabberghasted to see them go 0 - 1 up after 11 seconds! This was a high tempo game with some tempers threatening to boil over. First period ended Canadiens leading 0 - 1. A power play goal from the Lightning and we had a 1 - 1 game on our hands and everything to play for. An absolutely shocking call by the referee wiped out a perfectly legitimate Lightning goal. Then to add insult to injury and penalty is not called and then the Canadiens made it 1 - 2 which is how the second period ended. Five minutes into the third and the Canadiens extend their lead to 1 - 3. At 08:24 there is a glimmer of hope as the Lightning claw one back to 2 - 3. Sadly a pulled netminder was not enough to allow the Lightning to draw so the Canadiens won 2 - 3 and now lead the series 3 - 0.
