Plague house, mum arrives and Rangers kick off their play off run

Well it's a real plague house here at the moment. Toni got hit really hard today as it has building up for her and I was still bad enough to warrant being off sick for another day. Mine is improving slowly but not as fast as I would like. We've also discovered the most disgusting Lemsip in the world. Well I don't like it anyway, Toni thinks it is OK. Wild Berry and Hot Orange. Smells a bit like Xmas, tastes a bit like bleurgh!

Mum arrived this afternoon as she is staying with us over the bank holiday weekend as her birthday is on Saturday. Hopefully she will stay clear of the Weymouth plague just like everyone else in the house has been fortunate enough to.

Stayed up late to watch the first New York Rangers play off series (first round) game against Philadelphia Flyers. Things started badly with Flyers taking the 0 - 1 lead quite early on. Zuccarello made it 1 - 1 three minutes later and the first period ended 1 - 1.  There was no scoring in the second period although most of the pressure came from the Rangers. The the third period was a different story though. A 2+2 high sticking penalty after Akeson opened up Hagelin gave the Rangers the chance to secure the game. A power play goal from Richards at 08:22 made it 2 - 1. A second power play goal at 09:09 from Stepan put the Rangers 3 - 1 ahead. Hagelin then put the game beyond reach at 15:52 making it 4 - 1. The Flyers just kept taking stupid penalties after that so could never really get back into the game. I was more than happy with a 4 - 1 win. It was a great game to watch and if the Rangers keep up that level of play then hopefully they will breeze through the first round.
