Pirates & Smugglers Festival - day 3

Today was supposed to be our last day in Weymouth. We reluctantly got up and went downstairs for one final breakfast before getting ready to pack things up and load the car and head off. Steve Booth popped in for breakfast and we were talking about having to go back as we hadn't booked another night and he just said that we should stay at his house. One phone call to the granny sitter to check it would be OK and we were all set for another day of pirate fun.

When I say pirate fun what I actually meant was a pirate pub crawl! We started in The Boot before settling in The Royal Oak for a few hours and some karaoke. What followed was just hours of fun of friends talking, joking, laughing and generally just enjoying the company of everyone around.

So many photos and so many stories.....

It really was just a brilliant day. I talked to Taloch about the Dolmen Grove and Magick, there was music talk, we did the Time Warp, Steve Booth became a legend as a result of this video:

Next pub was Finns where Mark Vine and Steve Booth set about trying to restore some honour in a game of pool against Mel Ashling-Turner and Sharon Davey. They failed! In the other corner Toni and I plus Lee and Angie became deeply engrossed in a conversation about what was happening with the Dolmen Grove Land Fund and what the plans were. There was talk of fundraising ideas, business plans, and some quite heavy stuff but it was all extremely positive. It was such a powerful conversation that left us all feeling very empowered and uplifted.

Sadly the time came when we needed to head off so we started to head back to the hotel via a kebab shop to pick up cheesy chips and a chicken kebab. While we were there Steve Booth did a re-enactment of his politically incorrect "my table is moving" routine. We are so lucky that Chris H has a magnificent sense of humour:

...and then we retired to our rooms to eat food, watch a bit of The Goonies and then crash out ready for journeys home tomorrow.
