A very bizarre game that had me bored through most of it. I was dreading the game as the Chieftains had been humped 10 - 5 the night before by Guildford. Chieftains came out with a plan at the start which left them leading 1 - 0 at the end of the first period. After a delay in the play due to ice problems this plan then went out of the window for the second period then ended up the wrong end of a 1 - 3 scoreline. I really was praying for the game to be over with about 7 minutes left in the second. Third period was a little better with the Chieftains at least trying to get something back and despite their best efforts and pulling Moffat at the end they only managed to claw back to 2 - 3.
In other news the Capitals managed to scrape a 5 - 4 overtime win over Basingstoke Bison. This was a game where they really needed to get a definitive win to catch the Bison and although the Capitals get the full 2 points the Bison also get 1 for going into overtime.
Play off dreams for both the Chieftains and Capitals are fading fast!
