Toni and I headed off to London to meet Dennis for a drink last night. I got really stressed as the trains were all up the creek due to the usual farcical maintenance work. Fortunately Dennis was also running late so we ended up meeting him at The Ship on Wardour Street at 21:30. Had a few drinks there, and met Dennis' friends Jonty and Liam. Once Dennis felt lubricated enough we then headed off down the "walk of shame" to the Intrepid Fox.
It was all a bit frosty to start with as Sarah (one of the barmaids) was not talking to Dennis at all and didn't acknowledge my presence until Dennis had gone for a smoke. We drank plenty more, met Ash (another barman) and Max (a Fox DJ). Spent a short time on the "metal floor" to avoid the frost area before running back with out ears bleeding.
We settled on a table and started talking to a couple from Edinburgh, Chris and Caroline, and had a bit of a giggle with them and the promise of keeping in touch for drinks when we visit Edinburgh or they are back in London.
Dennis decided to bail out at around 01:45 so we grabbed a night bus to Stratford and then paid a hellish £45 to get a taxi home. Was a great night though and can't wait to do it again. Have invited Dennis round for beer, food, DVDs and music one night and he also once to come along to Vendetta too.
