Following on from the antics of the gig last night Toni and returned to the O2 Academy for our third trip to a Gotham festival, this one being GOTHAM 11!
Eight bands were on offer to entertain us:
LEGION
LEGION served up some very good dance floor goth. Sisters/Rosetta Stone style guitars with haunting keyboards

UNTIL I WAKE
UNTIL I WAKE were the weakest link of the bill from my perspective but I was pleasantly surprised. They have improved tremendously since I saw them last at Dark Mills. They are still a bit too muse like for my liking but when your voice is as good as Max Payn's then why not I suppose LOL

GREENHAUS
Greenhaus offered a Siouxsie/Cure sort of sound. They had a few technical problems but recovered well from them. Their songs had great melodies, running at a slow pace but were very danceable.

ALTERRED
ALTERRED had a singer who was like a cross between Brian Molko (Placebo), Tim Smith (Cardiacs) and Trent Reznor (NIN). His image was very Hitler-esque. It was all a sort of pantomime performance but in a good way.

RHOMBUS
RHOMBUS were a last minute replace for Lilygun who had to pull out due the singer being ill. They were a great replacement too. Sounding like a hybrid of Sisters and Fields with a little Cult thrown in for good measure. The two singers were a little like Andrew Eldritch singing off with Kim Wilde. Rhombus dish out good danceable guitar goth and had the best chorus of the night:
"You only want me when you're drunk,
When you're sober you're a monk!"
YAY, RESULT!!

LAHANNYA
LAHANNYA were more rocked up than their electronic CD recordings. In a way they were more femme metal than goth but delivered a great set nonetheless and were well worth watching. I had been waiting a long time to see them and certainly wasn't disappointed.

THE EDEN HOUSE
Wow, what a difference since last time I saw THE EDEN HOUSE. For me they were much improved. Their psychedelic hippy goth rock is more suited to winding an evening down but they stood their own between the upbeat performances of Lahannya and Clan Of Xymox. There was a drunk hairy biker loved Mandy (and told her so) although she was very embarrassed/uncomfortable about this LOL. Both girls had very strong voices. Toni was very entertained by the dudes standing on shoulders chancing their luck with the bouncers and ended up in a scuffle!

CLAN OF XYMOX
More classic dance floor goth finished the evening off perfectly. Xymox seemed to be having so much fun which is always great to see. It's just a shame there was a strict curfew as I wanted to see more. Fingers crossed they tour soon or maybe play Whitby in October!

Overall I would say that this was the best Gotham event that we have been to with a great set of bands through the day.
