Good work day, bad ROC(K)TOBER news, lovely steak and Red Dwarf

It was a surprisingly good day at work today. I had a meeting with Billy Smart which was actually quite tolerable and then got to meet the new CTO a well. He didn't seem particularly comfortable being dragged round the office and introduced to everyone but it was good to meet him and out a face to the name.

Things didn't stay good though....

On my way home Orpheum received some very bad news today as the promoter of the ROC(K)TOBER!! event informed us that he was having to cancel it. Despite things looking increasingly good on the promotion side it appeared that the ticket sales were still rather low and the venue got cold feet. They wanted a large sum paid today as a sort of guarantee but sadly the promoter was unable to raise this amount. Have to say we are totally gutted as we were really looking forward to that particular gig.

Thankfully there were things to lift my spirits when I got home. Dinner tonight was a slab of meat that was cut into steak. Oh my goodness, it was absolutely delicious.

We then watched the first episode of Red Dwarf X which was actually very good and a return to form for the show. The laughs and razor wit is back in style. Fingers crossed they keep things going at his level for the rest of the series.

So, despite the downer of the gig cancellation it had actually been quite a good day. I like good days!
