Bad start, the Kindle is alive and Rangers take game 7

Today started badly. Somehow we managed to miss two door knocks and Pam calling us first thing this morning. So not only have I had to re-arrange the British Gas safety inspection but we also missed out on Boots delivering Pam's meds. To make matters worse I tried to dial into our stand up meeting as I was WFH but I could not get connected to the line so missed it. Unbelievable.

Thankfully the day did improve after that! Everything work wise went smoothly, things are picking up again which is good. Steady workflow is always better than minimal. I spent my lunchtime trying to revive my Kindle. Even after popping the back off and removing the battery I still couldn't get the damn thing working again. This was after two days of constant charging too. It was with great delight that I finished work and found that my Kindle had burst into life when I got back into the living room! RESULT! Such a relief as I had feared that I would need to buy a new one.

Papa Johns provided our sustenance and we caught up on episodes of Cosmos and Warehouse 13. Toni then embarked on a little crochet magic and I start licking a CV into shape for Aaron so that he can start applying for some apprenticeships.

Crunch time for the New York Rangers as they headed into game seven of their round two series against Pittsburgh Penguins. It's all tied up at 3 - 3 so it's do or die time to progress to the conference semi finals. It was an end to end start to the game with the Penguins looking the more dangerous. Thankfully though the first goal was scored by Brian Boyle at 05:25 as the Rangers took a 1 - 0 lead after sliding one through Fleury's five hole.

Penguins then upped the pressure and looked the more dangerous team. Lundqvist made some great saves. Rangers were out shot 10 -7 but the period ended with the Rangers leading 1 - 0.

The second period started with serious pressure from the Penguins.Despite valiant efforts the Penguins managed to make it 1 - 1 at 04:15 as Jussi Jokinen banged in a rebound. Brad Richards netted a lovely power play goal at 07:56 to make it 2 - 1 to the Rangers. Penguins seemed to be the more determined of the two teams for most of this period. Once again Lundqvist was on top form. The second period ended with the Rangers up 2 - 1. They were out shot 6 - 13 (13 - 23 overall).

It was end to end at the start of the third. Penguins were starting to look dangerous but Lundqvist held firm. Some bad handling by Fleury and a Penguins guy almost resulted in an own goal. Luckily for them they managed to recover from it. It was end to end after that with both teams getting good chances but failing to capitalize. With 05:15 to go there was a mad scramble in front of the Rangers net with both teams being penalized resulting in a 4 on 4. 01:41 left and Fleury gets ready to leave the net for the extra skater. The Rangers battled against the odds and amazingly won the game 2 - 1. They were out shot 7 - 13 in the thrid (20 -36 overall). They were down 3 - 1 in the series and then won four straight games to win the second round!
