Full house for Sunday lunch, some pics, Jamaica Inn and Rangers force game seven!

It was a full house for Sunday lunch today. Jade came round brandishing a small cow all ready to go into the oven. Lots of preparation was done and then we had Jamie and Iain also turn up to be fed. That was eight of us. We were a little light on seating space and the house felt somewhat cramped LOL. Dinner was delicious, roast beef, roast potatoes and various vegetables. Due to the lack of seats Sam, Aaron, Jade, Jamie and Iain had their dinner in the living room while Toni and I went and ate with Pam. The house seemed very busy and I think it might have caused me a small rise in stress levels :)

I went a bit strange at one point, felt like I was getting a migraine so took some Migraleve. Was getting the strange visual distortions that can pre-empt a migraine. After everybody had left it was time to just relax and chill out for a bit. I started getting a bit dizzy too so we thought maybe it was a combination of stress and/or blood pressure. Thankfully after a sit down and taking it easy everything seemed to settle down.

Saw this today, it made me smile! There's always room in life for humour based on Star Wars!

This also made me smile. Not for amusement but because it is just a beautiful picture and it reminds me of Toni.

Decided to give the BBC series of Jamaica Inn a go this afternoon. I'd heard of criticism with it over the actors "mumbling". We could understand all the dialogue. Seems that people just can't cope with a whole show made up of regional accents. Not bad at all say I. Will have to dig out the book and the old film now!

...and so we moved onto the ice hockey!

New York Rangers took on Pittsburgh Penguins in game six of their second round series. Rangers have to win this one and the next one to progress as they are currently 2 - 3 down. Martin St. Louis kicked things off with a goal for his recently passed mother at 03:34 in the first. As it's Mother's Day in the USA this must have been really special for him. Carl Hagelin then made it 2 - 0 at 06:25 and it was clear that the Rangers meant business. At 16:25 the Penguins made it 2 - 1 and that's how the first period ended.

It was screw job time in the second period as Chris Kreider scored a goal for the Rangers but instead was penalized for goaltender interference at 05:55. Replays clearly showed that this was a complete farce. Lundqvist was on fire and made some unbelievable saves, some of which seemed to completely baffle the Penguins forwards. Derick Brassard made up for the injustice earlier and made it 3 - 1 at 15:30. Second period ended with the Rangers leading 3 - 1.

The first ten minutes of the third period was end to end with great saves by both keepers and power play chances for both teams. Neither team could be faulted for effort but there was nothing happen. Five minutes later and it was still the same with Rangers defending their 3 - 1 lead. There was a frantic final two minutes as Penguins pulled Fleury for the extra skater. Rangers missed a number of empty net chances but it didn't matter as they emerged 3 - 1 victors and have now forced a game 7 which will be another MUST WIN!
