Livin' Out Rock 'N' Roll

It was a trip down memory lane tonight. Arriving in the post was this little package containing a DVD of Livin' Out Rock 'N' Roll plus some other goodies.

Livin' Out Rock 'N' Roll is a documentary about two London based glam bands: The Babysitters and Last Of The Teenage Idols. To really appreciate what this DVD is all about you really had to have been involved in some of the chaos at some point. Once upon a time in Soho there were lots of strange looking blokes walking around like birds getting off on glam punk rock n roll and generally not giving a shit. We lurked in the dark recesses of Gossips (at Buttz and Spike's) and at The St. Moritz and were frequently seen hanging around Camden Palace, The (original) Marquee and The Astoria to namedrop but a few wonderful but now sadly demised venues.

If you were a fan of The Babysitters or Last Of The Teenage Idols then this is essential viewing. It's a fantastic comedy trip down memory lane. If you were part of the London scene back then then it is highly likely that you were at one of the gigs that are featured. I'll be honest, the whole thing brought a tear to my eye but it was definitely worth watching.

Here's the trailer to this delightful piece of history:
