Toni went to the hospital today to meet her cousin Katie to keep Pam company and be there for her surgery. I was back in the office and then afterwards came home as dad was staying. He had turned up last night and Sam kept him company as we were out.
The original plan for Pam's operation was for her to have a general but due to her being dehydrated by the time she was in pre-op they opted to do it as a local instead. As a result this meant that things had happened later than planned. Toni told me go and spend time with dad as she didn't know what time she would be done at the hospital and she was going to grab food with Katie.
Dad, Sam and I went round to Rishta and had a lovely meal and a good catch up. It was great to spend some time with him. While we were finishing up Toni text to say that Pam was transferring from Moorfield's to Royal London Hospital due to Pam needed some additional observations that Moorfield's were unable to do. She didn't know what time she would be able to come home so I agreed to go up there and meet her. Thankfully there was just enough time for me to get the last train to London and hop on a tube to Whitechapel.
We were in A&E for ages and much to our disgust they tried to discharge Pam at two in the morning. Toni politely pointed out that Pam had just had major surgery and that the trains were no longer running and we weren't prepared to take her home on a number of night buses especially as Moorfield's had said that they want to see her first thing in the morning. A few discreet words from Toni and they finally agreed to admit her to Royal London Hospital overnight. There was a bit of hassle trying to get a ward to accept her but finally everything was sorted and Pam was settled in to a ward.
Toni and I left the hospital at four and got the night bus to Tottenham Court Road. Timing wasn't too bad as we walked to Charing Cross Station and only had to wait fifteen minutes to catch the first train of the day to get home. We arrived back at six and just crashed out straight away.
